Yangshuo is an amazing riverside town near Guilin in Guangxi. There are plenty of things you can do in Yangshuo. I spent almost a week in the pretty town enjoying its beautiful views.

On my last day, I walked along the streets in the old town. As I was walking by the river. I saw a small group of elderly people playing cards, singing and chatting around a table. They were excited to meet me ,a foreign visitor, and filled my hands with a cup of green tea, peanuts（花生）and biscuits.

The first kite was invented in ancient China around 3,000 years ago. And the first Chinese kites were made out of wood, but once paper was invented, paper kites became popular. Bamboo and silk are also used in making kites.

Early Chinese kites were not toys. They were actually used for military（军事的）purposes. English is an important global language, but that doesn't mean it's easy to learn. Many experts have tried to make English easier for students to learn- but they weren't always successful.

In 1930, Professor CK Ogden of Cambridge University invented Basic English. It had only 850 words(and just eighteen verbs) and Ogden said most people could learn it in just thirty hours.
