4Do people grow cotton in North China?(改为被动语态)

________ cotton _________ in North China?

5John asked the lady, “How did you deal with the problem?”(改为宾语从句)

John asked the lady how _________ _________ with the problem.

1Has yet

2of/about speed

3It of

4Is grown

5she dealt

2Be sure后跟that从句和短语be sure ofabout同义;太空旅行很快意味着在太空旅行的速度迅速,所以名词用speed,故填of/about; speed

用句型“It is+adj.+of +sb. to do sth.” Itof

Food waste is a world's problem. Every year, about 1.3 billion tons, or one-third of all the food produced is thrown away, according to a survey. Using just 25percent of that wasted food could feed 870million hungry people, which would end world hunger. The people of France wasted 234pounds of food per person, which is much better than some other countries. In the past, France wasn't good at controlling food waste, but now the country takes the lead

A law was made by French government. It made France the first country in the world to prevent supermarkets from throwing away unused food. Now supermarkets of a certain size must donate unused food, or they will face a fine. There are other rules requiring schools to teach students about food sustainability They also ask companies to report the food waste numbers in their environmental reports. And restaurants should provide takeout bags

“These laws make it a standard to reduce waste.” says Marie Mourad, a student in Paris who has written several reports on French food waste. "France is not the country that wastes the least food, but Frenchmen have become the most active because they want to be the example in Europe"

"Preventing supermarkets from throwing away food means a lot," says Jonathan Bloom, a famous writer. "This step has influenced parts of French food industry"

It is everyone's duty to fight against food waste. Everyone should pay attention and take action

Over just a few days in January, millions of people across China were racking their brains They were taking part live-streaming (直播) quiz shows on several apps. Some of these apps include Chongdingdahui, Huajiao Zhibo , Xigua Shipin and Douyin.

Different from TV quiz shows like Happy Dictionary (《开心辞典》) and Who’s Still Standing (《一站到底》), anyone with a smartphone or tablet can participate (参加) in the live-streaming shows every day, communicating with other players at the same time.

The shows have hosts to present the questions. While the participants give their answers, they help to liven up the show by telling jokes or giving some background for the question. Each online player has 10 seconds to answer a question, with each show taking around 20 to 30 minutes.

Prizes ranging (……范围内变动) between 100,000 yuan to 5 million yuan are being offered, with the winners sharing the prize money at the end. Depending on the total amount of prize money and the number of winners, players can win prizes as small as 1 yuan and as high as more than 40,000 yuan.

The questions are chosen from a wide range of topics, including literature (文学), geography, mathematics and biology, among many others. For example, players may be asked how many legs crabs have, or what Australia’s national flower is.

To draw new users, the apps offer “redo cards (复活卡)” to new players, as well as to those who have invited new players to join. These cards allow players who give wrong answers an extra chance to compete on the show.
