In the first picture above, a woman, selling CDs, is trying to persuade Xiaoming to buy them and says the VCDs are very interesting, both horrible and exciting. Xiaoming could not resist the temptation that he bought them. A few days later, Xiaoming, affected by the video contents imitated the master in the video of robbing the woman.
From the story above, we should realize that we must keep away from the bad tempations and seek for the elegant life. Being young people of the new century, we should arouse our own sense of responsibility. We should strenghthen our awareness of law and mustn’t touch anything illegal.
As we all know, in our whole life span (While growing up,), we are all surrounded by a variety of temptations——from a tiny thing to a major event. These tempations may lead us to an ideal world or maybe they will bring us a disaster. Only when we keep the faith of being a helpful person in our mind, will we find the brightest prospects.

阅读下面的短文,然后按照要求写一篇150词左右的英语短文。
“Silent night” is anything but silent in China. Some Chinese people have turned Christmas Eve into a wild party night for the young. I assure you that the holiness of this holy night is totally lost here.
I noticed this year that some Chinese people were picking up Thanksgiving as well. They do without the turkey, but on Thanksgiving they send text messages to each on the cell phone. I got 32 messages in all, reminding me to be thankful. None of them thanked me for anything, however. I did not send any out. I still want a turkey (with lots of stuffing) and pumpkin pies.
The most ridiculous Western holiday celebrated in China, however, is Valentine’s Day. The Chinese translation is “Lovers’ Day”. I dare say it is the worst of the year for married men because they think it awkward to spend “Lovers’ Day” with their wife. But women here take Valentine’s Day very seriously. As a result, it is great business for restaurants and flower shops; this is the day of the year they can sell a lot of merchandise.

第二节:读写任务
请根据以下任务说明和写作要求,写一篇幅150词左右的英文短文。
Teenagers’ secrets should be kept to themselves and no one else ,their parents included, has the right to stick their nose into their private life. As we know, teenagers are going through a special period of development both physically and psychologically. They are curious about and puzzled by the unexpected changes in their body and mind. What’s more, exposed to a world of adults, it is only too natural for them to begin imitating (模仿) adults’ behaviors in secret. Boys begin to smoke and girls begin to spend time doing their hair. Some even begin to date with a girlfriend or boyfriend without their parents’ knowledge. They are doing al this in secret because they are still unsure whether it is right to do so and afraid that ,if found out by their parent, they will get misunderstood and even punished. And in fact, in many cases, the parents can not deal with the matter well and hurt their children’s feelings badly, making children no longer willing to communicate with their parents. When this happens, it hurts terribly the whole family feeling. So it seems right that teenagers should keep their secrets to themselves and their parents should allow their children that right.

It seemed no one cared about Steve, a twelve-year-old boy with alcoholic(酗酒) parents. In spite of his reading skills, he had been failing exams since first grade. Steve went unnoticed until Miss White.
Miss White was a smiling, young, beautiful redhead, and Steve was in love! For the first time in his young life, he couldn’t take his eyes off his teacher; yet, still he failed. He never did his homework, and he was always in trouble with Miss White. His heart would break under her sharp words, and when he was punished for failing to turn in his homework, he felt just miserable! Still, he did not study.
Until one day, Miss White talked to him, “Steve! Please! I care about you!”
Suddenly, Steve understood! Someone cared about him!
From that moment nothing was the same for Steve. Life at home remained the same, but life still changed. He discovered that not only could he learn, but he was good at it!
After high-school Steve joined the Navy, and he had a successful military career. During that time, he met the love of his life, he raised a family, and he graduated from a college. Later he became a professor in a nearby college
You see, it’s simple, really. A change took place within the heart of one boy, all because of one teacher, who cared.
