¡¾´ð°¸¡¿Start out small

Hello, everyone. We should try our best to make our hometown Xiangxi more beautiful and comfortable. What can we do for our hometown£¿In order to make our hometown more beautiful£¬ as students, I think we should start from small things. First of all, we should know the importance of protecting the environment. We should plant more trees and flowers and not cut down trees randomly. Second, we had better reuse the bag when shopping. We can't throw rubbish about, and we should keep the rivers clean and so on. In addition, we must obey public rules and be civilized students. When we got on the bus, we should wait in line.

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿ Stephen Glenn is a famous scientist who has made great medical development. When ______why he was so much more creative than the normal person, he replied that it all came from an experience with his mom. At 2, he was trying to take a bottle of milk from the refrigerator when he ______ his hold on the smooth bottle and it fell, spilling (È÷) the milk all over the kitchen floor! When his mom came in, instead of shouting at him or punishing him, she said, "Robert, what a great and wonderful mess you have made! I've ______ seen such a sea of milk. Well, now that the damage has been done, would you please get down and ______ in the milk for a while before we clean it up?" So happily he did. After that, his mom said, "Robert, Whenever you make such a mess like this, you'll have to clean it up and get everything back to its proper ______. So which do you prefer, a sponge (º£Ãà) , towel or mop?" He chose the sponge and together they cleaned, up the milk. His mom then said, "Robert, you've just had a ______ experiment about how to carry a big milk bottle effectively with two tiny hands. Now go to the sink to fill the bottle with ______ and see if you can discover a way to carry it safely." Immediately Robert learned that he could ______ it if he held the bottle at the ______ near the lip with both hands.

How wonderful a lesson! The famous scientist stressed that it was then and there that he came to know that ______ were just opportunities for learning something new, which is what scientific experiments are all about.

Wouldn't it be great if all parents could react the way Robert's mom did to him?

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿ Earlier this year, China achieved a new milestone£¨Àï³Ì±®£© in space exploration. On Jan 3, Chang'e 4 became the first space probe£¨Ì½²âÆ÷£© in history to successfully land on the far side (dark side) of the moon. After a 26-day journey, it touched softly down on a crater. The whole process of landing lasted 12 minutes, which opened a new page in history of mankind's space exploration.

The far side of the moon is the side that we can not see. We don't know much about it. This landing is of great importance. The far side of the moon is an ideal (ÀíÏëµÄ ) place for scientific research. It may have unique minerals (¿óÎïÖÊ ) and other resources. Scientists can make clearer observations of deep space from there.

Chang'e 4 has sent back photos of the far side of the moon. It is also being used to carry out experiments. The data (Êý¾Ý ) collected from these experiments could be used to help us build a base on the moon in the future. The success of the Chang'e 4 mission (ÈÎÎñ ) is a major achievement for China's space program.

China launched its lunar (ÔÂÇòµÄ ) exploration program in 2004, naming it Chang'e. Chinese scientists set three goals¡ª¡°orbiting (»·ÈÆÔËÐÐ ) , landing and sample (Ñù±¾ ) returning¡±. Chang'e 4 has realized the second goal. The third will be achieved during the Chang'e 5 mission, which is set to take place before the end of this year.

Following the success of the Chang'e missions, Chinese scientists are looking even farther into our solar system (Ì«Ñôϵ ) . China's first Mars mission is expected to be carried out by 2020.
