3Most of his questions have nothing with his homework.

4He was so tired that he fell asleep soon.

5How often do you go to the movies/see a film?

1根据Work hard, and your dream will come true.

Do you know how far it is from Dandong to Shenyang? Do you know…?“你知道吗?” how far“多远”,用来询问距离;from…to…“从”;故答案为:你知道从丹东到沈阳有多远吗?

可知,主语是“他的大部分问题”,英文表达是most of his questions;have nothing with“与无关”,主语most of his questions为复数形式,所以动词have用原形;“他的功课”his homework;故答案为:Most of his questions have nothing with his homework.

He was so tired that he fell asleep soon.

“多久一次”用how often表示;“看电影”用go to the movies或者see a film表示;主语是you,所以一般疑问句要借助于助动词do来构成,后面的谓语动词用原形;故答案为:How often do you go to the movies/see a film?

The meaning of silence is different among different cultures.

Many people in some Asian cultures think silence is a basic part of communication. When a traditional Chinese or Thai is speaking and suddenly stops, he probably wants the listener to consider what he has said before he continues. Many people may think silence is a sign of respect (尊重), especially to an elder or a person with power.

Western cultures may use silence in other ways. In America, if you keep silent in a conversation, the speaker may think you’re impolite or not listening to them carefully. Russian, French, and Spanish persons may use silence to show they agree with the discussion of the topic. However, Mexicans may keep silent when instructions(指示,命令) are given by a person with a lot of power, even though they don’t agree with the instructions.

In our daily life, if we know the exact meaning of one’s silence, it’s quite helpful, too. A man was ill in hospital. One morning, when the nurse said “Hello!” to him, he said “Hello!” back. “How are you feeling now?” the nurse continued. But the man lay in bed and looked at the nurse, saying nothing. “Not well, right? Then I will check it for you, OK? ” the patient was still silent. Then the nurse passed him a cup of warm water. He drank it quickly. After that, the nurse checked up his health. “Mr. Smith, your blood pressure is a little high. But don’t worry, you’ll soon be well again after taking some medicine.” The man smiled and said, “You’re the best nurse I’ve ever met.” You see, this is how silence works.

I a6 honey to her old recipe that day. I could sell the lemonade and donate some of the money to g7 that are helping to save bees. I could also s8 local beekeepers by using their honey in my product and I would be educating others on the importance of bees and helping to save them.

【题目】From Baby’s Doodles (乱涂) to Mother’s Paintings

It all started by accident (偶然) when Eve discovered her mother’s ink pen and loved using it.

Eve’s mother, Ruth is so artistic that she is able to change Eve’s random (随意的) lines into shapes which are easily recognized (辨认). A random curve (曲线) becomes an elephant’s ear, and crooked (弯曲的) lines become the branches of a tree. Nothing seems to escape her eye — she can see and paint the outline of a woman’s face or the hooked nose of a bird where most people would just see meaningless scratches

Since then, the mother and daughter have worked together on several quite attractive pieces. The process begins with Eve using a black ink pen to make her “sketches” (草图). Later, Ruth takes over with her water-colours, quickly turning the doodles into a “grown-up” painting.

“All of the pieces are completed within 30 to 60 minutes, the reason for this is that I don’t want to give myself any room to over analyze (过度分析) or second guess,” Ruth wrote on her blog.

According to Ruth, children can help bring out creativity in adults. “As we get older, we tend to (趋向于) create a box that everything is supposed to fit neatly into. As a child, there is no box. It is just endless freedom to explore any and every possibility of creativity and adventure,” she said. “I feel so blessed that my daughter can remind me once again what it is like to paint like a child.”
