【题目】Ms. Perry, can you tell me __________? Last month.

A.what the baby giraffe likes eatingB.when the baby giraffe was born

C.when was the baby giraffe bornD.where the baby giraffe came from

【答案】B

【解析】

句意:——佩里女士,你能告诉我小长颈鹿是什么时候出生的吗?——上个月。

考查宾语从句。what the baby giraffe likes eating一般现在时的陈述语序,小长颈鹿喜欢吃什么;when the baby giraffe was born一般过去时的陈述语序,小长颈鹿是什么时候出生的;when was the baby giraffe born一般过去时的疑问语序,小长颈鹿是什么时候出生的;where the baby giraffe came from一般过去时的陈述语序,小长颈鹿来自哪里。根据答句部分“Last month.”可知,此处是对时间进行提问,所以应使用when引导的宾语从句,故排除AD;宾语从句中从句部分的语序是陈述语序,所以排除C。故选B

【题目】 Elephants are the biggest land animals alive today. We have worked with elephants for a long time, but there are still many misunderstandings about elephants.

Some people think that elephants will run away if they see a mouse. This is untrue, in fact, elephants have such poor eyesight that they would not usually see a mouse, even if one came very near them.

“Elephants never forget.” is another fallacy(谬论). No evidence suggests that elephants have better memories than any other animals.

Finally, there is the myth(神话) that when the time comes for an elephant to die, it goes to some kind of elephant graveyard(墓地), but no one has ever found such a graveyard. What elephants probably do when they are old and sick is finding a cave and staying in it, so they will be safe until they either get better or die.

In Thailand, when the country was still called Siam, if someone found a white elephant, they gave it to the king because it was rare. The king had no choice but to keep the animal and feed it, even though it had no use for him. From this practice we get the expression, “a white elephant”, which means something that is not useful to us.

【题目】 Today's teens have grown up online. They make friends online. They do homework online. And surely they get their news online. But because they are so comfortable with the Internet, they seldom question the news stories online and pass along to their friends.

Now William Colglazier, a history teacher at a high school in America, is teaching his students how to think critically(批判性地) about online information and recognize(识别) a fake(假的) news story.

His idea came from a study on people's online reasoning(推理) at Stanford University. The study found that young people lack(缺少) ability to reason about the information on the Internet Most middle school students in the study could not tell the difference between an advertisement and a news story, and high school and college students fully trusted the websites ending in ".org".

The good news is thataccording to Colglazier, once teens realize they've been cheated, they have strong will to tell truth from lies. "But they need some advice on how to find evidence(证据) and how to recognize when others use poor argumentation(论据)," he said. Some of the advice that Colglazier offers his students include moving off the site to find more information about the site, the writer's motivations(动机) and the organization behind the news story.

Colglazier shared some of his course with other teens in Teen Vogue, a famous magazine. He hopes more kids would take away some knowledge about thinking critically when they read news online. "The Internet is both beautiful and ugly," he said. "If people cannot tell real news from fake news, the results can be frightening."

【题目】 On January 27, in order to win the new pneumonia Resistance War(抗击新型肺炎战), the Ministry of Education issued(教育部公布)a notice on putting off the start time of school in spring 2020. It was said that school should not start before March. The exact start time of school will depend on situations and further notices.

However, many parents are very worried that putting off the start of school may influence children's studies. If they have such a long winter vacation, children will not learn any knowledge, read books or study at all. They may forget what they have learned before. Staying at home for a long time will make them keep eating, sleeping and playing, which seriously affect their physical and mental health.

In short, the close of school influences learning and develops bad habits, so how should we avoid these problems? Local education departments have also issued a notice, that is, to organize online teaching and create a network platform (平台), where necessary courses will be shown every day, and online teaching will be given by excellent teachers of the subject, and students can lean at home through computer or mobile network.

It should be said that such a method is very good. It can not only keep students indoors and not worry about the infection(感染))of the disease, but also make them study at home, improve their learning ability, and truly achieve "no suspension(暂停)of classes". Both the platform itself and the recorded lesson resources are more useful, and are welcomed by parents and teachers.

Of course, except for learning at home, it is also necessary to teach children about health knowledge, especially how to keep away from touching virus and other knowledge popularization(普及); at the same time, it is also necessary for children to do some physical exercises or some games, which is good for physical health at home.

A.children may be infected by virus

B.children may not like online learning

C.children may have a long holiday

3Except for learning at home, what is also necessary according to the writer?

A.Keeping away from health knowledge popularization.

B.Taking public classes by excellent teachers.

C.Teaching children about health knowledge.

D.Doing some physical exercises with friends.

4The fourth paragraph mainly tells us _________.

A.the advantages of online teachingB.the importance of online teaching
