The other day I ran into an old schoolmate of my, Sally Barber, while I was at the cashpoint. I hadn’t seen her for age. I wanted to catch up with her, so I suggested go for a cup of coffee. Unfortunately, Sally’s a very busy woman, but she didn’t have time for a coffee. Let’s meet late in the week, I suggested. That is often the case, Sally looked in her diary, and said we could get together for lunch at 1 pm on Friday at her favorite restaurant. I thought it was a very much smart place, so I had dress in for the occasion. I arrived at a restaurant in good time. I finished my dessert by the time she turned up –she was an hour late!

【解析】（1）考察名词性物主代词，The other day I ran into an old schoolmate of mine 意思是有一天，我遇到了我的老同学。of.....意思是.....之一，后面应该是名词，根据意思，此处代表的是我的同学，故改为将my改为mine。

（2）考察名词的复数形式，I hadn’t seen her for ages 意思是我好几年没见过她了，其中age的意思是年，是可数名词，故应该用复数，所以已改为ages。

（3）考察固定短语，suggest doing something 意思是建议做某事，故此处go 改为going。

（4）考察连词， Sally’s a very busy woman, so she didn’t have time for a coffee.意思是他是一个很忙的人，所以她没有时间和我喝咖啡。句子之间没有转折关系，而是因果关系，所以but 改为so。

（5）考察固定短语，其中later the week 意思是下一周，故late 改为later.

（6）考察固定句式 ，“As is often the case”意思是通常情况是这样的，常常是这样的，故that 改为As.

（7）考察副词，smart是一形容词，前用副词修饰，但只需要一个，所以much是多余的，故去掉。

（8）考察固定短语，dress up 意思是盛装打扮，穿衣，故将in 改为up。

（9）考察冠词，a 代表泛指某件事或某件东西，the代表特指，根据文中意思，我到达她预定的饭店，说明是特指，故将a改为the。

（10）考察时态，by the time 意思是到....时候，其中主句要用完成时，具体时态由从句决定，从句中turned up 是过去时，所以主句应该用过去完成时，所以应该为had finished。

Last weekend, after finish my homework,I wanted to relax me, so I went to the cinema to watch Journey to the West with my friends. We hoped to enjoy ourselves there. However,some of the people there makes me feel very unhappy.

When we arrived there, the movie been on for ten minutes. We found our seats quick and sat down. What's worse,a few guys were talking loudly or even shouting when they saw some excited pictures. One day before I was on my way to home from school, I found a building on fire. Immediately I called the firefighters.

It seems that if the result is bad, which people work for will be meaningless. Personally speak, the process of fighting for the goal is less important than the result. When we fight for our goals, we will be devoted what we are doing and try to improve us. If we fail in the end, when we look back on the beginning, we will find that we are no longer the childish one. We have grown up. Nowadays, the majority of citizens consider an ordinary job bored or even valueless. In our ordinary life, there are many ordinary people, and they have made extraordinary contributions. For an example, cleaners’ jobs are one of the hardest job. Every early morning, when we are deeply in our sleeping, dustmen have begun their daily work. With our sweat and diligent work, streets are clean and tidy. If there were no cleaners, our streets will be full of rubbish. There would be a lot of flies and rats nowhere. People living in the city would suffer from terrible diseases.

In my opinion, the ordinary thing is playing an important part in our life. Ordinary and small as it is, it’s necessary. Meanwhile those which do small and ordinary things should be respected and paid attention.
