题目内容
19.For some kids, old photos and baby pictures are embarrassing. For others, they are cherished keepsakes(纪念品).But for thousands of children living in orphanages(孤儿院)worldwide, these records of the past simply don't exist.Either the kids'parents weren't around to snap photos,or the pictures have been lost.Whatever the reason is,the Memory Project is giving orphans a lasting document of their youth.Over the last two years, the Memory Project has provided hand-painted portraits (肖像)for more than 4,000 children living in orphanages in poor countries.Ben Schumaker,24,got the idea when he was visiting an orphanage in Guatemala in Central America. But he's not creating the portraits alone.Students in hundreds of high school art classes across the U.S.paint them using photos sent from the orphanages.
Schumaker believes that the artists benefit from the project as much as the orphans do."There are two purposes of the Memory Project,"he said."One is to offer a special gift to the child abroad. The other is to help open the eyes of the student who is painting."Staring into the eyes of another person,Schumaker believes, creates a real connection. This connection raises awareness in U.S.schools about the needs of the world's poor children."It's about planting a seed,"he said.
Schumaker is also working on Books of Hope,a project in which students of all ages put together homemade books for children in Uganda and India. He hopes that one day children in Uganda and India will send books to the U.S."It's important for me to have it be a two-way exchange,"Schmnaker says.

解答 25-28 CBBC
25.C.细节理解题.根据"But for thousands of children living in orphanages(孤儿院)worldwide, these records of the past simply don't exist.Either the kids'parents weren't around to snap photos,or the pictures have been lost."可知旧照片和婴儿照片不可以用是因为这些孩子没有父母.故选C.
26.B.词义猜测题.A.money钱;B.record记录;C.appeal呼吁;D.doubt怀疑;根据"Whatever the reason is,the Memory Project is giving orphans a lasting document of their youth."可知Memory Project是来记录他们的青春时光的.故选B.
27.B.推理判断题.根据"Whatever the reason is,the Memory Project is giving orphans a lasting document of their youth."可知孤儿们在Guatemala是通过Memory Project来记录他们的青春时光.故选B.
28.C.段落大意题.根据"Schumaker believes that the artists benefit from the project as much as the orphans do"可知本段主要讲述了Memory Project这个项目的好处.故选C.

The author was a young man aged 26,Albert Einstein who was working as a clerk at a (31)D office in Switzerland. His career as a physicist was (32)G after his doctoral thesis was turned down.Einstein had to satisfy his scientific passion only in his spare time.Within a few months, however,he wrote four groundbreaking papers.
The first paper described his particle theory of light. All physicists in 1905knew what light was.Whether from the sun or bulb, light was known to be a (33)H wave-just like sound. In the face of this (34)E held knowledge,Einstein proposed that light was not a wave.Instead,it was composed of"a number of energy quanta."This concept that physical systems can behave both as waves (energy) and as particles (matter) would be the seed of one of the two pillars of modern physics:quantum mechanics.Sixteen years later, this theory took Einstein to the peak of science:the Nobel Prize for Physics.
The second paper did not revolutionize the principles of physics.Nor did it earn Einstein another Nobel Prize. However, while proving the (35)K of atoms and molecules in the paper, the great scientist opened a new field in the study of physics:statistical physics.
The next paper was perhaps the most groundbreaking. It presented Einstein's well-known theory of special relativity,(36)F with even common people nowadays.Einstein wrote in this paper that except for the constant speed of light, everything is (37)C,including time, distance and mass.
On November 21,Einstein's last paper that year was published/In the paper, the scientist (38)J the (39)I between energy and matter with the most famous equation in history:E=mc2.(E stands for energy,m mass, and c the speed of light)
Einstein's four papers that year have (40)B changed our conception of reality:of light,of matter,of time and of space. There is no wonder that scientists later call 1905Einstein's annus mirabilis-his year of mirales.
