This morning when I read a magazine, I was deeply impressed by a series of cartoons with the theme of ‘I love reading’. Among them, the following is the most attractive to me.
In the cartoon, a man is sitting at a table on which there is a plate full of Zongzi, a kind of Chinese traditional food for the Dragon Boat Festival, and a cup. Somehow it seems that he is at a loss to eat them. Believe it or not, he just finds a book on How to unwrap Zongzi and carefully reads it instead of trying himself.
As students, we are learning by reading almost every day. It is true that books can tell us a lot and teach us how to deal with some problems. This morning, I was walking along the main street to the city park when I found heavy smokes poured out of a building opposite the main road. Obviously it was on fire. I called the firefighters.
Several minutes later, the firefighters arrived and tried their best to control the fire. With their help, many people managed to get out of the building safe and sound. All of a sudden a foreign woman came in a hurry almost out of breath and shouted. But she couldn’t make herself understood. I went to the woman and asked her what was happening. She told me that her daughter was still trapped in the fire. I told the firefighters about it at once. They immediately ran into the building. Shortly afterwards, they rushed out with the little girl.
The woman was very grateful to me and the firefighters for the help.

Dancing is my hobby and therefore, when I heard there would be a get-together to celebrate the 60th National Day on the evening of October 1st, I signed up for the performance. Luckily, I became a member of the dance group.
During the summer vacation, I practiced hard with others regardless of the hot weather. After the new school term began, I carried on with the practice while I was working hard at my studies. Classes used to begin very early in the morning so we had to go to school without breakfast, which more or less affected our health and studies in class. But now we get up at half past 6 and have enough time to have breakfast.
Now we have an hour for sports each day. We can take whatever exercise or sport we like. After that we feel relaxed and very energetic in class. Apart from that, we also have a variety of out-of-class activities such as going mountain climbing, or holding an art festival in which gifted students sing and dance or play a drama. Furthermore, as unnecessary burden is reduced, we have less homework to do in the evening, so as a result, we have time to do whatever we are interested in, such as surfing the Internet for useful information, playing some computer games for relaxation. No longer do we have to stay up late, and we can go to bed at 11.
