Dear editor,
It is reported that a large number of senior 3 students gave up the college entrance examination in June .2009。I know several reasons for it 。10 percent of these students go out to work because of poverty 。And for another 10 percent of these students who are weak in their study，it is hopeless for them to be admitted by the university 。Also 10 percent are rich enough to go abroad for further study 。Most of them give it up because they think it is difficult for them to find a good job after graduating from the university。
In my opinion ，giving up the exam is their own choice。We should respect it 。And the drop in students  taking the exam has provided the strong evidence to support the view that studying is useless。Personally it is not wise。The university is a place where students can learn all kinds of knowledge and skills which can help them gain a foothold in today's society in the future 。We should remember the saying ，“knowledge changes destiny 。Reading changes life。
