　　Since 2006, throughout China, more and more primary and junior high school students no longer have to pay school fees．The government pays the money instead．It's one of the greatest things the Chinese government has done for the people．School fees used to be a big burden for many families, especially those in rural areas and low-income urban families．The result was that many students dropped out of school．Take my friend Wang Ran for instance．We were classmates at Junior Two．She was a very bright girl and remained a top student in our class．Unfortunately her father died of cancer and her mother did not have a regular job and could not keep her in school．She dropped out to support her family．I'll never forget the tears in her eyes when we said goodbye．Thanks for the new policy, thousands of students like Wang Ran can finish their required education．
