When the bell rings, every student takes out an iPad. The light from the screens makes their young faces pretty and lively. That’s what happens every day at my school in the US. We use iPads in class.

I felt surprised and excited when I got an iPad the first day I arrived at the school. But it was not free. I spent about $100 to rent (租) it for three years.

Every iPad at my school has a special learning system (系统)

called Focus. Teachers put their teaching materials like textbooks and PPTs on it. When we have classes, we enter the system and download (下载) the materials with our iPads.

It makes the classes interesting and efficient (高效的). For example, a few weeks ago, we learned about London in the UK. Our teacher prepared a video in which we saw many places of interest in London. We could not only watch the video, but also see the words at the same time. Because of the video, I know more about the city.

We also do our homework with iPads. We can know how well we do our homework right after we submit (提交) our homework.

However, there are still some bad points about learning with iPads. Some of my classmates play games or surf the Internet in class.

I believe the key to use iPads well is to have good self-control (自制), isn’t it?

I hid the long black bag in the garage (车库) two days ago. Tonight, in the dark, I would finally take it away. If everything went OK, it would be done by morning. But I had to be sure no one, not even my wife, saw me.

It was more difficult to get away from the party than I expected. I said that the children were tired and needed to get to bed. It was partly true. But the main reason for leaving was that I wanted to complete my plan.

First I had to get the kids to sleep. That was never easy at any time and tonight it was even more difficult. The eldest one wanted to know why we left the party early. I told him 10:30 pm was not early. As usual, I read them a bed time story, but I had to stop myself reading too quickly or they would learn my secret.

Silence finally came, and feeling like a thief (小偷) in the night, I went out of the house and into the garage. Taking one end, I pulled the bag out from its hiding place and took it into the garden. I was worried that my neighbours might see me and call the police.

It was already eleven o’clock. By the light of the moon I started working, trying to make as little noise as possible. And that was not easy with a saw (锯子) and a hammer (锤子).

After much hard work, I finally completed my work. I looked down at my watch. It was exactly 4:00 am. Then I went inside to have a shower and get a few hours of sleep. It wouldn’t be long now before the kids would rush into my room and wake me up to tell me about the new tree-house Father Christmas brought them this year.

A new word is becoming more and more popular on the Internet in China - but no one knows quite what it means. The word "duang" is so new that you can’t even find it in the Chinese dictionary. But it has already spread(传播) like fire on the Chinese Internet , appearing more than 8,000,000 times on Weibo, where 15,000 users had more than 312,000 discussions. On Baidu, it has been looked up almost 600,000 times. But what does it mean?

Another user asked: "Have you duang-ed today? My mind is full of duang duang duang."

"To duang or not to duang, that is the question," wrote user Beatrice.

"Duang" seems to be imitating (模仿) a sound. It all seems to have started with Hong Kong action star Jackie Chan, who in 2004 appeared in a shampoo ad where he used the sound “duang” to describe his soft and black hair. The word came to people again recently after Chan posted it on his Weibo page. Thousands of users then began to visit Chan's Weibo page with comments (评论).

The word seems to have many different meanings, and there's no perfect Chinese meaning for it, but you could use it to give emphasis (强调) to the word that follows it. A kid might be "duang cute", for example.
