BBC World Have Your Say “Life inChina”![]()
Every day,BBC News on TV,radio and online brings you stories from across the world...But what we want to hear are the stories that matter to you.
Have you got a story about life inChinatoday? If you do,please put your story here.
I like traveling and I have traveled a lot around China.During the trip,I often find that a number of Chinese don't have good public manners (举止) . They always talk loudly on the phone and smoke everywhere. The worst is that they often break the rules in public. For example, when I traveled in Hong Kong in January this year,I saw a kid eating noodles on the underground, which is against the rules. However, the kids mother didn’t think he did wrong. Can you believe it? Let5s improve our public manners.(Mike,Shenzhen)
I am a 14-year-old boy from a poor village in Fuyting,Anhui Province. Like many other leftbehind children (留守儿童) in China,I live with my
grandparents now. My father went to work in Shanghai several years ago. Last year,my mother went there to care for him because his health is not as good as before. They tell me to listen to my grandpar- ents and call me about twice a month to ask about my study.I really miss my parents and I hope I can afford to go to school in Shanghai. I think every child needs parents' love and care.(Wu Peigen,Anhui Province)

Dear Editor,
I read the stories on BBC World Have Your Say today.I am interested in Mike^ story, because I had the same experience when I traveled in Guangzhou. I canH stand bad manners in public, either. In fact,I really get angry when people jump the queue and smoke in nonsmoking area. I think it’s wrong to break the rules in public. In my opinion,we should know more about good manners. On the other hand,we had better stop people around us from being rude.If we can^ stop them,we can always ask the police or someone like that for help.
Yours,
Li Ming
[参考范文2]
Dear Editor,
I read the stories on BBC World Have Your Say today.I am interested in Wu Peigen’s story, because one of my friends is a leftbehind child too. He has been living with his grandparents since he was six. I can understand how hard life is for leftbehind children.I think it’s best for children to grow up under the care of their parents. In my opinion,we can join some social groups to offer help to leftbehind children. We can visit and make friends with them.On the other hand, they should be allowed to go to school in the city for free.
Yours,
Li Mins

What can we do during this hour? We can do lots of fun things in the dark, such as planning a candlelight dinner for our family or a group of friends, telling stories and singing songs with the kids and neighbors.
What did you do for Earth Hour this year? Let’s share the Earth Hour stories.
Emma
I was on one of the mountains near the city and took photos of my city. It was great to watch the stars and the moon after a busy day so that I could enjoy this relaxing moment.
Albert
I work as a waiter in a restaurant. Our restaurant was still open even for Earth Hour as we got lots of reservations (预定) that night. So we spent the hour working by candlelight. And guess what?
Our customers loved that and promised to come for next Earth Hour.

I turned off the main power to my house and went for a walk for Earth Hour. It was a little strange to walk in the dark, but it was only for one hour.Just think of what it must have been like before the invention of the light bulb!
