The Ronald McDonald House (RMH) is a special house. It is for the families of sick kids who are in hospital.

The RMH was started by a football player called Fred Hill. His daughter was once very sick. His family spent a lot of time in the hospital because they didn’t have enough money for the hotel. Fred wanted to help families like his. He decided to build a place where they could eat, sleep and play. Then he worked with McDonald’s to build the first RMH. Today McDonald’s gives money to help run (经营) the RMHs.

The RMH has living rooms with TVs, playrooms full of toys, bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens and laundry rooms (洗衣房). It is just like living at home.

You can help the RMHs by giving money to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. You can also spend time at the RMHs. You can clean the rooms or make dinner. You can even have a game night with the families. Just call the nearest RMH. They will love hearing from you.
