【题目】 The measure(衡量)of a man’s real character is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out. — Thomas Macaulay

I don’t ____ about the other eleven boys. Speaking for ____ I can say: it was the most important single _____of my life. Thirty years after being introduced to Macaulay’s words, they ____ seem to me the best yardstick (准绳), because they give us a ____ to measure ourselves rather than others.

When the papers were marked she discovered that twelve boys had made exactly the ___2___mistakes throughout the test.
There is nothing really new about cheating in exams.
Instead, she wrote on the blackboard the ___4___ words by Thomas Macaulay. She then ordered us to ___5___ these words into our exercise-books one hundred times可知,这里说的是下课后,其他同学都走了,而这12个男孩被留了下来,故应选C。
根据空后…these words into our exercise-books可知,老师是让我们把这句话抄写到作业本上。
Speaking for ___7___ I can say: it was the most important single ___8___of my life. 故应选B,know about…
根据句意I can say…
Thirty years after being introduced to Macaulay’s words, they ___9___ seem to me the best yardstick (准绳), because they give us a ___10___ to measure ourselves rather than others.
even甚至;still仍然;always总是;almost几乎。 Thirty years after being introduced…
All所有的;Few很少;Some一些;None一个也没有。 But all of us are called upon daily to make a great many personal decisions.
Should应该;Must必须;Would将,情愿;Need需要。根据下句话Should the extra(额外的) change that was received at the store be forgotten or ___14___?
根据下句话Should the extra(额外的) change that was received at the store be forgotten or ___14___?
harder更困难的;better更好的;more peaceful更平静的;more natural更自然的。根据句意…to live with someone you respect.
Thirty years after being introduced to Macaulay’s words, they ___9___ seem to me the best yardstick (准绳), because they give us a ___10___ to measure ourselves rather than others. 根据下句话Should the extra(额外的) change that was received at the store be forgotten or ___14___?

An American in Beijing Lives His Chinese Dream
Wearing his bright red armband(袖章) and speaking fluent Mandarin(普通话), 62-year-old Terry could be taken for any regular Chinese man from a distance.
His Chinese name is Gao Tianrui. He became interested in Chinese culture as a teenager when he read the Tao Te Ching by Laozi. At 18, he took a ship to Taiwan to learn Chinese. On the ship the captain suggested that he should have a Chinese name. “He named me Gao Tianrui, based on the pronunciation (发音)of my English name,” he said. Then he first visited Beijing in 1987 on business.
Gao Tianrui lives in a Siheyuan with other three families. His neighbors are very helpful and friendly. Gao Tianrui once wasn't familiar with Chinese living habits and his neighbors helped him to overcome difficulties. Gradually, he could speak Chinese fluently.
Having lived in Beijing for more than 20 years, Gao Tianrui has also finally achieved his Chinese dream: becoming a public security(安全) volunteer. Life as a“ Xicheng Dama” has even made him an online celebrity. Xicheng Dama is a club for volunteers, usually women in late middle-age, who roam(漫步) the streets of downtown at Beijing's Xicheng district. And now Gao Tianrui has joined their club.
“I like helping others," he said. "I live in the Siheyuan and my neighbors and I usually help each other…This is where I live, where my friends are and where I call home.”
