【题目】As we all know, the Lantern Festival is on the 15th of the first lunar month, meaning the end of the Spring Festival celebrations. Studying in Chinatown, California, I couldn’t celebrate it with my family, so after discussing with my friends, we decided to cook a dinner together.

We bought the meat and vegetables from the market and started to cook at around five in the afternoon. My friends Tony and Chen Qifan acted as cooks for the day.

In the kitchen, the sounds of knives cutting and water splashing (飞溅) reminded me of being back in my hometown. Right away these sounds made me think of my grandma preparing the pork and my mom washing the cabbages for our meal.So did my friends.

“Dinner!” shouted Qifan as the last dish was placed on the table. As the smell of spices and meat filled the air, we couldn’t wait to start eating. Once we began, the different taste preferences among my friends from different regions of China became obvious.

Although I come from Shanxi, a place famous for its mature vinegar (陈醋), I never knew that crab meat dipped in vinegar and ginger () was so tasty. This combination was not only delicious but also healthy. We exchanged information about our diet habits and cultures and were surprised by the many small differences. The whole room was filled with laughter and the sounds of colliding (碰撞) chopsticks and bowls.

On the way home, the laughter still rang through my head – I can’t imagine life without my dearest friends. I’ll probably forget all the physics equations (方程式) or how to pass chemistry but I’ll never forget the time I’ve spent with my friends.
