The title “A Precious Present” reminds me of quite a few gifts I’ve got. Yet, the first come to my mind is the book, the Adventures of Tom Sawyer.

On my tenth birthday, my father gave it to me as a gift. Because I didn’t like reading, I put it on the bookshelf. One boring day, I picked it up and looked through it. Unexpectedly, the story interested me greatly. I found pleasure in reading books. From then on, I became fascinated in reading.

Though the book is not valuable, it’s precious. I’ll regard it as a treasure forever.

【题目】Every day we use money to buy what we want. But have you ever really noticed the bill (钞票) in your hand? There are different pictures on both sides of banknotes (纸币) and interesting stories behind them.

Most banknotes have famous people on the front, such as a country’s leader or a great scientist, while on the back of the paper note there are usually some well-known scenes or national buildings.

However, the backs of the bills are different. The Great Hall of the People, on the 100-yuan note, is a landmark (地标) in Beijing. Important meetings are always held there. The Lijiang River in Guilin, on the 20-yuan note, is one of the most beautiful scenes in the world.

The US 1-dollar bill has the first president, George Washington, on the front side. A 13-level pyramid is on the back. 【题目】Tony never eats fish. This is not because he is allergic(过敏) to fish as food. He simply does not like the taste of it. You may not think this quite surprising, until I tell you that he has been a fisherman of one kind or another for most of his life.

At first, fishing was just a hobby. He used to sit on the river bank with his fishing rod(鱼竿) in his hand, waiting to feel the pull on the line. He wound(收回) the line as soon as possible and took the hook from the fish’s mouth, recorded its size in a notebook, then threw it back into the water.

Later, he used to go to sea on his friend’s fishing boat. Instead of throwing back the fish they caught, his friend took them home, where his wife cooked them or put them in the fridge for future meals.

【题目】I was just watching the news and seeing an interesting story. It is about a high school student who is fighting to be allowed to take his assistance dog to school. The school worries that the other students will watch the dog all the time and won't listen to the teacher.

In my opinion,I think it would be a good learning experience for all the students. It would help make the relationship between the blind child and his working dog stronger. When I was in the 9th grade, there was a blind student who came to school parttime and he usually brought his dog. It didn't influence our studies. Though in the beginning, many of us were curious(好奇的) about the dog,we soon became used to it. In fact,he showed us what his dog could do for him after class, and we learned a lot about assistance dogs.

I can also tell you that assistance dogs help disabled people a lot. Children, even adults, don't always know how to deal with or treat someone with disability. If you put a dog next to that person,it can help that person better. The dog is usually very well trained. It will not hurt anyone. So I think assistance dogs should be allowed to take to school.
