【题目】Dear Kids Advice Magazine,
Hi,my name is Evan and being the eldest child in the family surely has its disadvantages.First of all,I have to share all my toys and games with my younger siblings,William and Julia.Of course, they don't need to return the favor because I'm totally uninterested in their things.Besides that,Julia and William are always hanging around me.It's especially annoying when I have a friend over.We look for a secluded place in the house where they can't disturb(打扰) us,but within minutes, they've found us and are asking to join in.I just can't seem to get a moment's peace. At meal time,I have to eat whatever is on my plate regardless of the portion size or taste.William and Julia only need to try one bite when it's not their favorite food. Not only this, but I'm expected to be cooperative(合作的) at all times because I'm the oldest and need to be a role model for them.
It doesn't seem fair either that I have more chores to do around the house than Julia and William put together.Plus, when it comes to practising our musical instruments,I have to practise more than double the time.Oh,and the worst part of it all is the huge quantities of homework I get compared to them.
I'm feeling rather annoyed with my sibling situation. Can you please write back with some advice?
Yours truly,
Evan Smith

首先,写文章的作者Evan就是一个孩子,原文“I have to share all my toys and games with my younger siblings,William and Julia”(我必须与我的小弟弟妹妹威廉和朱莉娅分享我所有的玩具和游戏)说明他还有一个弟弟和一个妹妹,家里一共有三个孩子,故填:There're 3/three children in the family.
【2】句意:为什么Evan被期待一直都要懂得合作?原文“Not only this, but I'm expected to be cooperative(合作的) at all times because I'm the oldest and need to be a role model for them.”(不仅如此,我还被希望在任何时候都是乐于合作的,因为我是年级最大的,需要成为他们的榜样)说明了他被期待一直要懂得合作的理由,因为他是年龄最大的,而且要成为他们的榜样,故填:Because he is the oldest and needs to be a role model for his siblings.
【3】句意:当他写这封信的时候,Evan的感觉如何?对于他的感受可以从文中的一些形容词得到答案,例如“I'm feeling rather annoyed with my sibling situation.”(我对自己的兄弟姐妹的这种情况感到相当恼火。)说明他感到恼火annoyed,原文“It doesn't seem fair”(那看起来不太公平)说明他感到不公,也能推测出他的心情是不开心的,有点生气的,故填:He felt unfair/annoyed/angry/unhappy.

When you sit down with your family to eat a meal, have you ever wondered when and where people used chopsticks for the first time?
It's said that the first chopsticks were used in China 5,000 years ago. Since then, chopsticks have been widely used in many countries in Asia, such as China, Japan and Korea. Chopsticks are made of different kinds of materials. The materials like bamboo and wood are common because they are easy to get. People also use bone for chopsticks. Even many valuable materials like silver can be used to make chopsticks. There are also many table manners(礼仪) connected with chopsticks. For instance, never stick(插入) your chopsticks straight in your rice bowl. People believe this is impolite to the host.
