My name is Bill. I live in a small village on top of a hill. Life can be difficult. We don’t have any major roads. This makes it difficult to send items to local shops. Also, my friends find it hard to visit me. I do own a car, but I seldom use it. I work in a bookshop in a town at the bottom of the hill. I often cycle to work. Sometimes I even run. I used to find this boring, but now I enjoyed the exercise. I’m much fitter now. In fact, we all are. A newspaper did an interview with us the other day, and we were once voted the healthiest village in the country. No one in the village has had a day off work for eight years. I believe that this is because we all walk, run or cycle instead of using our cars.
