【答案】Getting To School On Time

I felt my shoulders being shaken and I opened my eyes slowly. "Don't you have school today? "Mother asked with concern. I jumped out of bed quickly and scurried about getting ready for school. It was already 7 am.

After gulping down a cup of hot milk on the table, I dashed out of the house in a flash.

Somehow, things did not seem to go smoothly for me. The lift seemed to be taking much longer than usual to arrive. It stopped at every floor! I decided to race down the stairs instead. Sprinting as if I were in a 100-metre race, I reached the bus stop in just three minutes, compared to the usual eight.

Those few minutes did not help though as I was still waiting for the bus to arrive at the bus stop. I was pacing about, wondering what to do when I heard a car honking. I turned around and saw my neighbour, Mr Peters. He gesticulated to me to get into his car.

Mr. Peters offered to take me to school. He said that he had seen me rushing down the stairs and concluded that I was late for school. I thanked him profusely for his offer. When I reached the school gate, I still had three minutes to spare. I walked briskly to the courtyard where most of my classmates had already assembled. What a relief!
