Recently, people in our city had a discussion about whether it is right W keep a pet dog.
Some people think dogs are our loyal friends. For one thing, dogs can keep company with people. For another, they can help people; for example, they can guide the way for the blind. However, some other people disagree. They think dog waste can pollute the environment and some dogs may bite people and cause diseases, which is dangerous to us.
In my opinion, people have the right to keep their pet dogs. But at the same time, the dog owners should make sure their pets won’t cause trouble to others.

Text 10
Mrs Thompson invited some friends to lunch. She was eager to try a new way of cooking a fish dish, and she was very pleased with herself when the dish was ready, As the dish was hot, she put it near the window to cool for a few minutes. When she came back for it, she was surprised to find the neighbor’s cat near the dish. Fortunately, she was in time to stop the cat. That afternoon was a great success and they talked and laughed fill four o’clock. At the end of the afternoon, when she was alone again, she felt tired, but happy. She was sitting near the window when she was frightened to see her neighbor carrying the cat, dead. What had happened to her friends? She at once called the family doctor, He told her to phone each of her visitors to meet him. Just as she sat down, the telephone rang. It was her neighbor. “My cat had been killed by a car.”
