Looking forward to meeting you.

¡¾´ð°¸¡¿I'm Tom, a British exchange student at Yucai High School. I am planning to take a six-day tour of Dali and Lijiang, Yunnan Province, starting from February 21 to 26.
I'd like to find an outgoing and enthusiastic companion from a Chinese high school, who has a good knowledge of Chinese culture, especially about Yunnan local minorities. Besides, it would be nice if you have some experience in traveling. Above all, your good command of English will make sure free communication between us can happen. I sincerely hope we can relax, enjoy ourselves, make friends as well as improve our cross-cultural communication skills during this experience.
If anyone is interested, please contact me at 13012345678 or send me an E-mail to tommy1999@163. com.
Looking forward to meeting you.

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿Have you ever considered volunteering? It gives you a chance to give back. You¡¯ll feel a sense of pride that you are volunteering your time, and a local organization will benefit, too. But how to volunteer? Follow the three steps before you enjoy it.

Pick an organization. ¡¾1¡¿ You¡¯re likely to be happier and volunteer longer at an organization that supports a cause you care about. For example, if you¡¯re interested in animal welfare, maybe you want to volunteer at an animal shelter. Much like job search sites, you can also use volunteer websites like Volunteer Match or Serve.gov to help you find volunteer opportunities in your area. If you still can¡¯t narrow down where you want to volunteer, start asking people you know where they volunteer. ¡¾2¡¿

Be clear what you can offer. First identify your skills. For example, maybe you could write brochures for local nonprofits if writing is your style. ¡¾3¡¿ You need to be sure how much time you can give to an organization based on your other commitments. If you try to do too much, you ¡®re more likely to give up.

¡¾4¡¿ Treat the application like a job. Spend some time preparing for the interview, much as you would for a job interview. ¡¾5¡¿ Ask what¡¯s expected of volunteers. For instance, volunteers at a museum may be expected to learn parts of the galleries to give tours. Start volunteering slowly. That is, it¡¯s better to commit to just a little bit of time at first to see if you like volunteering at the organization.

A.Apply and get started.

B.Volunteer in person or online.

C.Then don¡¯t forget to review your weekly schedule.

D.You¡¯d better focus on the causes you like very much.

E.You may find one of them has the perfect opportunity for you.

F.It is also a time for you to assess whether the organization is fit for you.

G.First find an organization that¡¯s a good fit for you, and then decide what you have to offer.

I'm Evan Ducker. I'm just like every other 15-year-old boy, except I was born with a red birthmark(Ì¥¼Ç).
Some birthmarks are signs of serious medical conditions. I'm very fortunate¡ªmine isn't. I pretty much live a regular life, except for people asking me about it all the time, which can get annoying(ÄÕÈ˵Ä) sometimes.
When I was about 4 years old, I asked my mom why there weren't any characters with birthmarks in the books she would read to me. When we went to the library, we realized there weren't any available for little kids. Worse than that, the books available to older kids and adults described characters with birthmarks as unattractive. So I decided to write my own.
I based the story on all the real things that happened in my life. But instead of people, the characters in the book are real animals from the Galapagos Islands, including red-footed booby birds(öäÄñ). I picked a booby bird as the main character because the birds have red feet due to a vascular(Ѫ¹ÜµÄ)condition, similar to a human birthmark!
It was really tough to get my book published. It took a long time because a lot of publishers refused to publish it. They would say there wasn't a big enough market for a book about birthmarks.
But my mom never gave up trying to help make my dream come true. And in 2005, she finally took her own money and self-published ¡°Buddy Booby's Birthmark¡±. After it was published, I got letters from readers all over the world. They all shared their stories and thanked me for sharing mine. Teachers wrote to tell me that my book changed the way classmates treated each other and that my book was helping kids to accept and appreciate their differences.
Then, as more teachers started reading my book, I created a free global reading event, the ¡°International Buddy Booby¡¯s Birthmark Read¡ªAlong for Tolerance and Awareness.¡±
