2.Taking exams in a large group setting can be stressful for students and for the staff members who are watching over them.
When classrooms are crowded and desks are close together, cheating might be tempting.
One university in Thailand came up with an anti-cheating hat that makes it almost impossible for students to see other students'papers. A photo of the students wearing the anti-cheating hats made its way to the Internet, and the university was criticized for making students wear those ridiculous looking homemade hats. The hats were made by stapling pieces of paper onto a headband, one to each side of the head.
After being criticized, senior academic staff at Kasetsart University in Bangkok,Thailand, released a statement saying that the hats idea came from students. They said that in a bid to prevent cheating they asked the students for ideas on how to prevent cheating in the upcoming exam, which was being taken by almost one hundred students. Students came up with different ideas, then the paper hat idea was selected by them as the most suitable.
The university claimed that no one was forced to use the hat,but they all chose to do so."When wearing the hat during the exam, students felt more relaxed,"Nattadon Rungruangkitkrai,a lecturer at the university said."It was not meant to indicate that Kasetsart students often cheat on exams. I apologize if the photo makes other people look at my students in a negative way,"Rungruangkitkrai added.

7.The elevator of the future may be just over the horizon thanks to German company ThyssenKrupp.The firm has invented a cable-free elevator (called MULTI) that can go up and down like traditional lifts but the magnetic motors allow it to go side-to-side too.The designers predict that this technology could incrase the carrying capacity of existing architecture by as much as 50%.Plus it looks really neat.
ThyssenKrupp plans to use light-weight materials to build its elevator ears of the future and the lack of a cable winch(钢缆绞车)will reduce weight as well.The ears wouldn't just move up and down as they do now but would instead go in a circle that allows more cars to slip in fight behind the next.The result is that you might only have to wait 10seconds for the next one to arrive rather than wait for the one you just missed to come back down.
The technology backing ThyssenKrupp's MULTI elevator is very similar to magnetic levitation(磁悬浮)systems used in high-speed trains.Each car has two magnetic motors-one for vertical movement and another for horizontal.This system can also deliver power to the car's internal lighting and electronics without using wires.
A traditional cable driven elevator has mechanical components that can hold the car in place in the event of a power-off.ThyssenKrupp didn't go into detail about safety measures in its announcement but it's safe to say the magnetic levitation elevator will have some sort of system to hold it in place if the lights go out.ThyssenKrupp is working on a test tower that will be used to develop the MULTI into a real elevator technology.This should be up and running by 2016but it will probably take at least a few more years before you get to climb inside a magnetic elevator car.

35.What can be learned from the last paragraph?D
A.MULTI will sell well.
B.MULTI has to work on a tower.
C.MULTI will be put into use in 2016.
D.MULTI has a safety system in case of power-off.
2.On most days,a thick blanket of poisonous smog(烟雾)hangs over Beijing.But one day,China's capital could be dotted with domes(穹顶) filled with clean air.
Orproject,a London-based architecture and design firm,has devised the Bubbles project,a design that envisions massive,balloon-like structures filled with clean air.The plants in them would produce clean air for those living inside the buildings on the edge of the bubbles,while also providing a smog-free space for residents to spend time in the man-made outdoors.Rajat Sodhi,director of Orproject India,spent a year and a half developing the idea with the firm's Beijing team.
The skin of the rootftop bubbles would be created from ETFE,an extremely durable(耐久的),lightweight material that will not rot(腐烂) over time.Each bubble would be filled with gas,allowing it to float.The entire structure would be shaped and fixed with steel supports.
The project has received mixed reactions since it was first released in January.Some are supportive.But critics argue about the idea.Some people say the plan is simply unrealistic and,at best,would lead to two classes of citizens in polluted areas.Most probably only a wealthy few would gain access to the bubble,leaving the unlucky majority trapped in smog.
Rajat Sodhi believes the reaction comes from those who want to solve environmental problems,though he says that isn't his goal and that he doesn't agree with them.He's an architect who creates living spaces,he thinks.The Bubbles project could work in a variety of areas where people are prevented from enjoying green,open spaces for much of the year.
The firm's designers say that project is suitable for hot or cold climates.Mr Sodhi says,"There were basically no green areas in cities,so the air quality drops because there is no natural regeneration(再生)of the air."

44.What can we learn from the second paragraph?C
A.Orproject is a project on how to produce clean air.
B.Orproject mainly fills the park with clean air.
C.Orproject can get data from the design team in Beijing.
D.Orproject will use plastics to make domes.
45.What is Rajat Sodhi's opinion on people's reaction?A
A.Unsatisfied.
B.Thankful.
C.Angry.
D.Doubtful.
46.What is the text mainly about?A
A.The design of domes filled with clean air.
B.How Orproject comes up with a new idea.
C.Any new idea may cause strong disagreement.
D.Why Orproject tries to make domes.
