Helicopter parenting is an expression that describes parents who are over focused on their child, like a helicopter hovering ( 盘旋 ) closely over him, whether he needs them or not.
__【1】__ As family sizes are getting smaller, more attention is focused on the one or two children and some parents have responded by taking more control over their lives. Also, many parents are making an attempt to develop close bonds with their children, often being overly involved in their lives. Also, some parents always fear that their children may fail in what they want to achieve, so they try to prevent the serious consequence, especially if it seems it could be avoided with parental involvement.
Sometimes the practice continues to spread due to what is called “peer (同龄人) pressure”. When parents observe other parents overparenting, it will pressure them to do the same to make sure that their own children don’t fall behind.
__【2】__ For example, by always “doing” for the child, the hovering parents don’t give the child a chance to fully develop his sense of independence. As a result, the child may lack the confidence necessary to do well in school. As an adult, he might find it difficult to deal with life’s challenges. __【3】__ Research has shown that helicopter parents have more anxiety because they constantly judge their own value by their children’s success.
__【4】__ Experts suggest that you should let your child do tasks that he is physically and mentally capable of doing by himself, which will help to build a self-confident kid. __【5】___ Gradually, your child will learn independence as he steps out on his own. Meanwhile, valuable lessons can occur when making mistakes. So if your child is allowed to make mistakes, he’s given the opportunity to learn from those lessons.

There are a number of reasons for helicopter parenting是对这段话的总结,符合后文内容,故选B。
There may be various consequences of helicopter parenting是表示望子成龙的家长可能会有各种结果,可知是对后文的总结,故选C。
Research has shown that helicopter parents have more anxiety because they constantly judge their own value by their children’s success,说明家长在对孩子给予自己过分的期望后自己也会受到影响——会面对很多焦躁,而E项就是对此作出的总结,符合语境选E。
So how can you avoid being a helicopter parent?
Gradually, your child will learn independence as he steps out on his own,可知讲了孩子自己独立面对事情会增加他的独立性,而F项It is also important to let your child struggle while trying new activities讲述的是让孩子自己去面对新的事物,是上句的一个原因,符合语境,故选F。
