Four years earlier，President-elect Lincoln had traveled by train from Illinois to Washington．He stopped to make speeches in cities along the way．Now，on this sad return trip，the train stopped at those same cities：Baltimore，Philadelphia，New York，Cleveland，Indianapolis and Chicago．
