¡¾´ð°¸¡¿Mother Teresa was born in Macedonia on August 26, 1910. When she was young, she studied religion and loved everyone. Later, she went to India and taught Geography there for many years.
In 1950, she founded the Missionaries of Charity in Calcutta, which aims to help the poor. Its members are volunteers.
Mother Teresa devoted all her life to taking care of the poor, the sick, the homeless and the dying. That devotion won her respect throughout the world and the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979.
In her later life, Mother Teresa suffered greatly from heart disease. She died at 87 on September 5, 1997 in India.
