这里的worked in the day care center 是一个非限制性的定语从句,先行词是Jessica’s mother,指的是人,who 、whom和 which都可以引导定语从句,但which的先行词是物,故排除D;在这个定语从句中缺少主语,因此用who,故选B。
根据下文的内容she fell right into the well可知,Jessica是掉进了井里。 故选A。
next to在…旁边;along with 和…一起;far from 远离;out of在… 故选A。
well 井;tunnel 通道;hole 洞;yard院子。
And Jessica McClure was still in the well可知,这里救援人员还没有挖好洞,所以是仍然在挖。故选A。
look after 照顾;worry about 担心;make friends with 和…
故选A。
it 它;them他们;him 他;us我们。

Many people like to travel by plane, but I don't. An airport is usually far from the city. You have to get there early and wait for hours for the plane to take off and it's often late. You can't open the windows. You can't choose the food. Planes are fast, but it still takes hours to get out of the airport and into the city.
I like traveling by train I think trains are safe. Railway stations are usually in cities. When you are late for a train, you can catch another one. You can walk around in the train and open the windows.  You can see many interesting things on your way. I know it takes a little more time.

The world’s greatest detective, Sherlock Holmes, is back on our screens.
The new BBC TV series of Sherlock was broadcast in the UK on Jan 1. But the history of Sherlock dates back 127 years.
Since the creation of Holmes in 1887, he has been taking us on adventures (冒险) one after another.
The Sherlock series is a playful drama, covered in crimes and mystery. It gives us a modern Sherlock for a new generation, who solves cases with the help of the Internet, cell phones and GPS.
People look to Sherlock for both adventure and inspiration (灵感). Each case sends us on a mysterious journey with Holmes. The stories give life and color to our imagination: as he checks the crime scene, we join him and become detectives too, looking out for hidden clues.
Yet Holmes is no Superman. He cannot fly, or turn invisible (隐形的). But his powers are within all of us: reason, logical thinking and paying attention to detail. While an artist’s painting is his art, Sherlock’s art is his intelligence He is human, and this is what makes Holmes a true hero for all of us.

At present, almost everyone has a mobile phone, but have you ever thought that cell phones      be bad for your health? A study shows that heavy mobile phone use may cause hearing loss(失聪).
This study shows that people who use cell phones for about an hour a day have a       time hearing some similar sounds, especially in their right ears. It is getting harder for       to tell the difference between the sounds of“s”and“f”,and“t”and“z”.
Researchers studied 100 people who used cell phones and       them with 50 people who did not. The study lasted for 12 months. What the researchers found was that cell phone users had more hearing       than those who did not use cell phones.
Besides this, our ears have many little       inside them. Too much noise will cause these hairs to get weak and       die. When these hairs die, it affects our ability to listen.
However, cell phone users don’t care too much       this study. One man said,“I’d be more worried about people who       MP3 players. They put those earphones in their ears and listen to very       music. I think that is more likely(更有可能的) to cause hearing loss than a cell phone.”
