On Well La Paz Plaza is one of the most popular tourist sights in the world in South America. And the only scenery spot is its infamous San Pedro prison (监狱) .
There are around 1,500 prisoners in the prison,80 percent of whom are drug offences However, besides the high walls and the main gate, there are no prison bars. Even most prisoners’ families live in the prison with them.
Differing from most of prisons in the world, its prisoners (囚犯) have to buy cells themselves. Prices change according to what section you want. There are eight sections in San Pedro. The cell blocks in rich sections have tiled floors, cable TVs,and DVD players. Some of them even have an open balcony (阳 台) . While cells in the poorer sections are designed for one person, but often house five. The prisoners lie on dirty mattresses (床垫) .
The cheapest cell will cost around £100,but the cells which look like actual apartments can sell for as much as £3,000.
Besides the cells, the food in prison can also make your life here easier on condition that you have enough money. Instead of a large pot of unappetizing-looking (引不起食欲的) soup, you can buy fried chicken with chips or rice. There are many restaurants around the prison.
Everything that prisoners need can be bought from sellers. They own shops selling fruit and vegetables, soft drinks and other items such as toilet paper. Some prisoners also sell handicrafts (手工艺品) they have made or pictures they’ve drawn.

根据第三段的首句“ Differing frommost of the prisons in the world, its prisoners have to buy cells them selves.”
根据第三段与第四段可知,“富人区”的监狱装有瓷砖地板、有线电视和DVD播放机,有 些甚至还设有阳台;联系第四段的“ but the cellswhich look like actual apartments can sell for as much as £ 3.000.”可以推知,“富人区”的监狱牢房售价 可能到3.000英镑,故A、B、D项正确;根据第三段 的“While cells in the poorer sections are designed for one person, but often house five.
1. Everything that prisoners need can be bought from sellers.
2. Some prisoners also sell handicrafts they have made or pictures they ’ ve drawn.
they have made是定语从句,修饰前面的先行词 handicrafts ,省略了关系代词that; they ’ ve drawn也是定语从 句,修饰前面的先行词pictures ,省略了关系代词that。
It seems that everybody tells lies—well, not big lies, but“white lies”(善意的谎言) .Telling white lies isn’t really that bad. Most of the time, people do it because they want to protect (^ f/1) friendship or they don't want to hurt someone. Here are some ways they do it.
★ Giving false excuses
Sometimes people like telling lies because they don't want to do something. For example, someone invites you to a party. You think it will be boring,so you say you’re busy.
★ Lying to make someone feel good
Often we don't tell the truth to make someone feel good. For example, your friend cooks dinner for you,but it tastes terrible. Do you say so? No!You will probably (可能) say, “Mmm,this is delicious!”
★ Lying to hide bad news
Sometimes,we don't want to tell someone bad news. For example, you have just had a terrible day at work, but you don't want your family to worry about you. So if your parents ask you about your day,you just say everything is fine.
