One day, Mrs. King asked Lucy to go shopping for her.
"Here is a shopping list, so you won't forget anything," she said.
"OK, Mum" said Lucy. When she got to the shop, she picked up all the things on the list.
"I haven't forgotten anything," she said to herself. But then it was time to pay for them.
"Oh, sorry!" she said to the shopkeeper. "I've forgotten my money! Well, I'll keep the things on this
shelf for you," said the shopkeeper.
Lucy ran home at once. Her mother saw her when she arrived.
"That was quick!" she said. "Have you finished yet?"
"No, Mum,"said Lucy. "I forgot the money!"
"Well, you should take the shopping basket with you, too!" said Mother.
In the shop, Lucy got all the things on her shopping list, and took them home. When she reached
home, her mother asked:
"Have you got everything?"
"Yes, Mom," said Lucy.
"I haven't forgotten anything." She quickly put the basket on the table. She was taking things out of
the basket when she dropped a bag of sweets. The bag fell on the floor and broke open. The sweets went
everywhere! "Oh, my dear!" she said.
"Bad luck!" said Mother.
"It doesn't matter!" They both started to pick them up.
"How much did you pay for all these things?" asked her mother.
"Not too much," said Lucy. "I didn't spent all the money. I brought some back."
"Where is it?" asked the mother.
"Here it is, Mum! That's one thing I haven't forgotten today!"

| As the song goes "My future isn't a dream." I love the song which bring me confidence when 1 it every time. I believe that all our dreams can 2 if we have courage (勇气) for them. When I was young my father always asked me 3 I would be in the future. Sometimes I found 4 very hard to give a certain reply,"I want to be a doctor.""I want to be a teacher." and" I'd like to be a scientist!" Many of these answers are perhaps very childish and ridiculous (幼稚而可笑的). But I never think they are 5 . How time flies! Who is able to give a certain statement to his future? I know 6 that those high buildings are based on solid foundation (坚实的基础). 7 a student, I should have a reasonable aim, and study hard. My goal is to 8 the best university for further study after middle school. I know it's hard work, and I'll come across many difficulties and frustrations. But no matter what they are, I'll keep working on it and never give up. Even if my 9 won't come true, I have no regrets (遗憾) for what I have done, 10 I have worked hard at my life. | ||||

Monty Robert’s father was a horse trainer. As a child, Monty often went from one farm to 21 with his father. Sometimes they didn’t have enough money to 22 food, but Monty still kept hoping to own a 23 farm.
When he was inschool, his teacher asked him to write a paper 24 what he wanted to be and do when he grew up. He wrote a seven-page paper 25 his dream of having a horse farm one day. He 26 drew a picture of a horse farm in the paper.
The next day he handed 27 in to his teacher. Two days later, he got his paper back. On the front page was a large red “F” with some words “See me after class.” 28 the boy did and asked his teacher, “Why did I get an F?” The teacher said, “This dream will not 29 for a young boy like you. 30 a horse farm needs a lot of money. You have to buy the land. You have to pay for a lot of things. There is no way you could ever do it.” Then the teacher added, “If you write this paper again with a 31 dream, I will give you a goodgrade.”
After school he thought about it 32 . At last, he decided to hand in the same paper, making 33 changes at all. He wrote, “You can keep the F and I’ll keep my 34 .”
Many years later, Monty had his own 200 acres horse farm. His dream came true.
So don’t let 35 take away your dreams. Follow your dreams, no matter what they are.
