Have you ever regretted doing something you shouldn't have done or something you didn't do which you should have? At one time or another we probably all have. There's no 1lin getting depressed about it now—it's no 2crying overspilt(溢出的)milk. However, there may be some gain in thinking about exactly what happened and why3 we might be able to draw some conclusions for the future.
One thing we all do now and again is to lose our 4with a friend or close relative. The odd thing is that we more often display great 5towards someone we are fond of than towards 6.The explanation may be that we see friends and relatives as a kind of safety net, an opportunity to 7a bit of steam in a safe environment, while the consequences (后果)of8 a stranger could be far more serious.
Being honest is usually thought of as a virtue (美德) and undoubtedly this is the9 .On the other hand,we have all experienced occasions when we have spoken our minds to someone, telling them exactly what we feel, and then have found ourselves filled with feelings of 10.Perhaps we should have kept our mouths shut?

How often do you let other people's nonsense change your mood? Do you let a bad driver, impolite waiter, rude boss,or an insensitive employee 36 your day?
One day I was in a taxi and we headed 37 the airport. We were driving in the 38 lane when suddenly a black car drove out of a parking space right in front of us.My taxi driver slammed on his 39 ,slid sideways, and at the very last moment our car stopped and 40 the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car looked around and started 41 at us.
My taxi driver just 42 and waved at the guy.And I mean he was really 43 .So I asked,“Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!”This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call“The Law of the Garbage Truck”.
He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of 44 ,full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage 45 up,they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on 46 .Don't take it personally;Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on.
Believe me.You'll be 47 .Don't take their garbage and 48 it to other people at work, at home,or on the streets.Life's too short to wake up in he morning with 49 . The mark of your success is how quickly you can refocus on what's 50 in your life,Roy Baumeister,a psychology researcher from Florida State University, found in his extensive research that you 5l bad things more ofter than good things in your life, you store the bad memories more easily, and you 52 them more frequently.
Therefore, love the people who treat you right and ignore the ones who don't.Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you 53 it!
When you follow“The Law of the Garbage Truck”, you take back control of your life! You make room for the good by 54 go of the bad.Have a marvelous,garbage-free day! The seeds you plant today 55 the harvest you will reap tomorrow.

How often do you let other people’s nonsense change your mood? Do you let a bad driver, impolite waiter, rude boss, or an insensitive employee 1 your day?
Sixteen years ago I learned this lesson in the back of a New York City taxi cab. One day I was in a taxi and we headed 2 the airport. We were driving in the 3 lane when suddenly a black car drove out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his 4, slide sideways, and at the very last moment our car stopped and 5 the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car, the guy who almost caused a big accident, looked around and started 6 at us.
My taxi driver just 7 and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was 8, so I said,"Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!” This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call "The Law of the Garbage Truck".
He said, “Many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of 9 full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage 10 up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on 11 . Don’t take it personally; Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Believe me. You’ll be 12 .”
So I started thinking, how often do I let Garbage Trucks run right over me? And how often do I take their garbage and 13 it to other people at work, at home, or on the street? It was then that I said, “I don’t want their garbage and I’m not going to spread it anymore.”
Life’s too short to wake up in the morning with 14 . The mark of your success is how quickly you can refocus on what’s 15 in your life. See, Roy Baumeister, a psychology researcher from Florida State University, found in his extensive research that you __16 bad things more often than good things in your life. You store the bad memories more easily, and you __17 them more frequently. So love the people who treat you right. Ignore the ones who don’t. Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you _18 it!The odds are against you when a Garbage Truck comes your way, but when you follow “The Law of the Garbage Truck”,you take back control of your life. You make room for the good by 19 go of the bad.
Have a Garbage-Free Day!Have a marvelous, garbage-free day!The seeds you plant today 20 the harvest you reap tomorrow.

Recently, a professor of philosophy in the U. S. has written a book called Money and the Meaning of Life. He has discovered that how we 1 money in our day-to-day life has more meaning than we usually think. One of the exercises he asked his students to do is to 2 every penny they spend for a week. 3 they spend their money, they can see what they really 4 in life.
He says our relation with others often becomes clearly 5 when money enters the picture. You might have 6 with somebody and you think that you are very good friends. But you will 7 him only when you ask him to lend you some money. If he does, it brings 8 to the friendship that seems stronger than ever before. Or it can suddenly 9the friendship if he doesn’t.
Since money is so important to us, we consider those who possess a lot of it 10 very important. The author interviewed some millionaires for 11. Question: What is 12 thing you have discovered about being rich, because you are a self-made man? Answer: What makes me surprised most is how people give me 13. I am nothing. I don’t know much. All I 14 money
People just 15 making more and more money, but what is it 16? How much do I need for a given purpose in my life? In his book, the professor uncovered an important need in modern society: to bring back 17 that money is an instrument 18 the end.19 plays an important role in the material world, but expecting money to give happiness may be 20 the meaning of life.

One night this summer, on my way home from work I decided to see a movie. I knew the theatre would be air? conditioned and I couldn’t face my 1 apartment. Sitting in the theatre I had to 2 the opening between the two tall heads in front of me. I had to keep changing the 3 every time she leaned over to talk to him, 4 he leaned over to kiss her. Why do Americans display such 5 in a public place?I thought the movie would help improve my English, but as it 6 ,it was an Italian movie. 7 about an hour I decided to give up the movie and 8 my popcorn. I’ve never understood why they gave me so much popcorn! It tasted pretty good , 9 . With time going by, I understood 10 of the romantic? sounding Italians. I just heard the 11 of the popcorn chewed between my teeth. My thought started to 12.I remembered when I was in South Korea, I 13 to watch a host on TV frequently. He seemed like a good friend to me, until I saw him 14 on TV in New York speaking 15 English instead of perfect Korean. He didn’t 16 have a Korean accent!I felt like I had been betrayed (背叛).
When our family moved to the United States six years ago, none of us spoke any English. 17 we had picked up a few words, my mother suggested that we all should practise English at home. Everyone agreed, but our house became terribly 18 and we all seemed to avoid each other. When we couldn’t avoid seeing each other, our expressions were stiff (僵硬的).Sitting at the dinner table we preferred silence to 19 a difficult language. Mother 20 to say something in English but it came out all wrong and we all burst into laughter and decided to forget it!We’ve been speaking Korean at home ever since.
