       Dean could hear the voices from around 40 feet below him .  “ Don’t give up , Dean ! ” Uncle Jim shouted encouragingly .  “ You can do it ! ” “ You’re almost there , ” Kurt called as he pulled on the 36  that ensured his cousin’s safety .  

       Kurt and Dean had just finished helping Uncle Jim 37  a climbing wall at a community gym in Canterville , Texas .  The wall , made of concrete and crushed granite (碎石) , looked like a sandstone cliff .  Despite his 38  of heights , Dean had volunteered to e the 39  to climb the new wall .

Mr. Hadley was my 6th grade teacher. I was a tall thin girl weighing barely a hundred pounds. I ended up taking a lot of1especially from the boys, because of my appearance. I became an extremely2young lady.

When my turn came, I6to stand up in front of all those students and7to their tricks. Mr. Hadley came over to me and again8me to read my report. I gave it back to him. When I came to my new school three years ago, I was surprised at how lonely I felt. Then one of my classmates invited me to her house for a dinner 1. I was a little anxious, but finally I gladly 2.
