A friend of mine met with an accident driving in darkness. His legs were so hurt that he couldn¨t move. What was the 36 was he found himself unable to ask for help-his mobile phone went out of 37 as a result of exhausted battery. Nothing could be done but to
38 in cold wilderness. It was 8 hours later that day broke, and then the 39 of the rescue.
It is almost 40 that he could stand the horror in the darkness for so long. Even more surprising was his 41 : ^First of all I checked up my 42 conditions and found myself not in fatal danger. As there was no 43 to call for help, I leaned back in my seat trying my best to keep the wound from 44 . In this way I dozed (嬉迴) off. ̄
His story put an end to my regret for the 45 of an exploration adventure that happened last year. A group of young men 46 to explore a mountain cave and got lost.
47 to find a way out in the dark cave they were frightened and ran anxiously without a sense of 48 . Finally they fell dead in fear and exhaustion. According to the 49
people that found them, the place where they got lost was only about 10 meters away from the
50 of the cave. If they stayed on the spot when they lost their way and tried to 51
themselves, they would probably sense a faint light glimmering (描妨) not far away.
Don¨t you think that you can compare it with 52 itself? When you meet with obstacles in life and work, you are lost in darkness. 53 you it¨s unclear yet and you needn¨t put up struggle 54 . It seems to be a negative attitude, 55 a person who can afford to do so must have foresight as well as a great courage in the first place.

When people have more money than they need for ordinary things they sometimes use their 1 money to travel and see 2 of the world. European people go to 3 and people from the East go to 4. Long before people traveled 5, ships went from one country to another 6 one another. The men 7 in those old ships 8 use the stars and 9 to help them find the way.10 they saw an island, they brought out their maps to see 11 the island was marked (恬炎芝) on their maps. 12 it was not marked there, they knew that they 13 an island. If we compare the maps of today with 14 by the early sailors we will notice many differences.
These days 15 and the most convenient (宴楯議) way to travel is by air. Some people who do not like cold weather fly to 16 place when the cold season comes. Their only problem is 17 if they move every year to keep away from the cold 18 rainy season they need two 19 houses, one for each half of the year. Some people like to travel by sea better 20 it gives them a chance 21 new friends. 22 natural way to travel is by land. If we have enough time to compare one place with another we will 23 that every two places are rather 24 each other. If we know both languages, we can have a better 25 of the differences between the two countries.

Harriet Beecher Stowe had put her heart into her antislavery book, ^Uncle Tom's Cabin ̄. But neither she nor her first publisher thought it would be a big 1 . The publisher was so doubtful that he wanted her to share the publishing costs with him, and all she hoped was that it would make enough 2 for her to buy a new silk dress.
But when the 3 5,000 copies were printed in 1852, they were sold out in two days. In a year 300,000 copies were sold in 4 and 150,000 in England. For a while it was sold in 5 quantities than any other book in the world, 6 the Bible.
Within six months after it came out, a play was made 7 the book which ran 350 performances in New York and 8 America's most popular play for 80 years.
It might appear that ^Uncle Tom' Cabin ̄ was 9 popular, 10 this was certainly not true. Many people during those Pre-Civil War days--particularly defenders of the slavery system, considered it as 11 propaganda傚勧and poorly written drama.
