As a parent you may realize the importance education has in our lives, however, your child hates listening to any of your arguments, thoughts and ideas. A student uninterested in education will miss college lectures and perform extremely poorly in assessment tests. In the worst cases, students may stop attending the school or college and sit at home without any concern for career, education and life. In order to encourage the students back to their college life and career, parents should first find out what causes the lack of motivation in students.

Low self-respect in students forces them to give up challenges. Even if these students try and complete some tasks, they’re clouded by many negative thinking patterns that block the flow of confidence in their personalities.

Lack of love at home can also result in the lack of motivation in students. If the parents are away from the kids or students and they’re unaware of what their kid is doing in school, then the child feels neglected and steps back from taking responsibilities and challenges.

Constant poor performance lowers the self-confidence of the student and the student will feel lost in the crowd of brilliant students. Such academic pressures can make students lose their motivation.

Nothing can be a better motivation for students than their teachers and parents. Schools should organize motivation activities for students, like games, sports and competitions, which are important for the whole personality development of the students. Involve them in some activities like dancing, music etc. that they are interested in, so that they can learn new hobbies and increase their confidence. You should stop ignoring your child’s studies and do understand his need to be heard. In short, lack of motivation in students can be completely reduced if the parents and teachers understand the kid and support him / her to break any of his / her negative patterns of thought.

Almost every day we come across situations in which we have to make decisions one way or another. Choice, we are given to believe, is a right. But for a good many people in the world, in rich and poor countries, choice is a luxury, something __41__but hard to get, not a right. And for those who think they are exercising their right to make choices, the whole system is merely an illusion, a false idea created by companies and advertisers hoping to sell their products.

1.All California students must pass the California High School Exit Examination (CAHSEE) to receive their high school diploma. The test is first taken in the 10th grade, but retakes are allowed. The CAHSEE consists of two parts: English language arts and mathematics. The contents of the exam are based on the California state curriculum in those subjects. A scale score of 350 in each part is required to pass.

2.To pass the CAHSEE, concentrate on studying the types of questions asked on the exam, and don’t worry about information that will not be asked. The mathematics section includes statistics, data analysis, probability, number sense, mathematical reasoning, measurement, geometry and grades 6 and 7 algebra. You will also need to know how to work with fractions, decimals and percentages. The English language arts sections covers vocabulary, decoding, comprehension and your ability to read and analyze short passages of text. You will also need to know basic spelling, grammar and punctuation and be able to write a short essay.

3.You can find CAHSEE practice tests and study guides on the California Department of Education website. To pass the CAHSEE, read these study guides —— they contain information about the contents of the exam. Also take several practice tests. The first time, concentrate only on answering the questions and checking your answers. After this, time yourself so you get practice in completing all the questions in good time. Look up the answers on the answer sheets given with the practice tests and make sure you understand any of the answers you got wrong.

4.One of the best ways to practice for the CAHSEE is to pay attention in the classroom. Your teachers will teach all of the material you need to know to pass the test. If you listen in class, do your homework and ask your teacher for extra help with anything you are having difficulty in understanding, you will have done most of the work you need to pass the CAHSEE. Another everyday way to study is to read for fun. The more you read, the more comfortable you will be with the English language arts skills you need to demonstrate.

5.When taking the CAHSEE, remain calm and organized. In the English language section, read the questions and passages carefully and make sure you understand what the question is asking before you try to answer. For the essay, take a few minutes to outline your essay before you start writing. Review your work and correct grammar, punctuation and spelling mistakes. In the mathematics section, work through the questions on scrap paper rather than trying to do them in your head. The test has no trick questions. If a question seems confusing, read it again and think about how it applies to the subjects you have studied.

Mount Hollywood Trail, Los Angeles
It's not a skyscraper or a Ferris wheel, and there's no expensive restaurant up top. But if you want an absolutely unforgettable, no-admission-charged, 360-degree view of the entire Los Angeles region , it's yours. All you have to do is walk a little. One of the preferred exercise routes, the Mount Hollywood Trail, is easily accessed from the parking lot of the famous Griffith Observatory; you see what you get at the end of this steep 1.5-mile trail, which winds its way through the Griffith Park wilds up to the mountain's 1,640-foot peak.
Bronx River, New York
It may not be on your Top 10 list of things to do when you finally get to the Big Apple, but exploring the almost-secret river that flows through one of New York's most mysterious boroughs (自治市) is an unforgettable experience. The Bronx River Alliance, a non-profit group that has worked tirelessly to bring the much-abused river back to life , operates cycling and canoeing trips along the river, from the rugged Hunts Point section down near the harbor on up through the borough.
Southern Islands, Singapore
Believe it or not, tightly packed Singapore does have plenty of open space left . There are actual trails right in the middle of everything, if you know where to look . But to really get away from it all, the Southern Islands, a small group of little green dots just off the city-state's southern shoreline, are just the thing.
Lee Valley, London
This East London river valley changed last summer, when anyone near a television got an eyeful of Olympic Park, built directly in the middle of the valley. Inside the park, beautifully landscaped sections quickly became a favorite relaxation spot for games goers. At present, you'll find miles of walking paths worth exploring. Start at the Waltham Cross train and follow the signposted walking route southbound, guiding you past important historic industrial areas, through interesting city neighborhoods, past the western side of Olympic Park and on to the Thames.
