Do you have a goal for life? What's it? Do you want to become a writer, singer or just become a rich person?
A recent survey shows that in modern society, most people pick up practical goals, such as “earning money to buy a house and a car”, “to improve one's life quality”, “finding a good job”.
Wang You worked in a small firm (商行) in Nanjing. The job was good and he didn't have to work for extra hours. However, he felt the work was not exciting at all and the life was boring. So he gave up his job and went to Beijing in February, 2007. When he arrived in Beijing, he set his new goal as finding a good job.

One researcher says, “Everybody has his/her own life goal, which will be surely different from people to people. If one is poor, one's life goal will be to earn more money; if one doesn't have a diploma, studying hard to get a diploma will become his life goal; and if one doesn't have love, his life goal will be to look for it. But if one has no life goal, he will idle away (虚度) his lifetime. {007}”

Nowadays, more and more people are using email, but sometimes we use it too much or use it inappropriately. To get the most out of email we need to use it carefully and sensibly. These are some simple tips to help you make a better use of email.
It is good to have separate email accounts for separate purposes. For example, you may have one for business and one for social activities. This means you can check the personal email in the evening without having to think about business. If you see an important message from your boss, it could ruin your weekend or evening. After all, most people want to relax themselves and get away from work at the end of the day. Don't allow email to make you a slave to work. Some people feel it is inconvenient to check 2 different email accounts. But the relative inconvenience is easily outweighed by the benefits.
Many people ignore the title of an email. If the subject changes don’t keep using an old “re: irrelevant title.” A good title increases the chance that people will actually read your email rather than just leaving it for later. A bad title may even get deleted as spam.(垃圾邮件)
Emails can be brief and to the point. If the message has to be long, make sure it is broken up into different sections, which are easy to read. But, generally you should aim to keep it less than 5 sentences. This is good for both the writer and the reader.
If somebody sends some important documents, files or message, make sure you, at least, acknowledge their receipt(接收). Otherwise they may be uncertain that you’ve got them. It doesn't have to be long; it can be quite short.
If you find yourself sending similar answers to many people, write a draft message and save it in your drafts folder (or write it in Word). You can use this standard response for emailing many people. Don’t forget to personalize it by adding their names.
Having a signature looks professional and saves typing the same information. Remember people may wish to contact you through other ways. So make sure you have a phone number and address in your email. If relevant, add any qualifications and websites that you have. This gives people a chance to find out more about you.

Nowadays more and more young athletes are taking part in the risky activities called “extreme sports” or “X-sports”.
In the past young athletes would play baseball. Today, they want risk and excitement — the closer to the edge, the better. They snowboard over cliff and hike deep mountains.
Extreme sports started as an alternative to more expensive sports such as golf. A city kid who couldn’t afford expensive sports equipment could get a skateboard and have fun. But now it has become a whole new area of sports, with specialized equipment and high levels of skill. There is even an Olympics for extreme sports, called the winter x-game, which includes snow mountain hiking and ice climbing.
What makes extreme sports so popular? Maybe it’s because people love the risk. City people want to be outdoors on the weekends and do something challenging. The new equipment is so much better that people can take more risks without getting hurt. Sure there’s a risk. Once you go mountain hiking or snowboarding, it’s impossible to go back to have riding or skiing. It’s just too boring.
Now even the older crowd is starting to join in. Every weekend, groups of friends in their early 30s get together. On weekdays they work as computer programmers in the same office. On weekends they hike mountains together.
Extreme sports are certainly not for everyone. Most people still prefer to play basketball or watch sports on TV. But it has been a fact that extreme sports are gaining popularity.
