摘要:D With the Double Ninth Festival coming on October 2 and Halloween on October 31, many people are asking this question: Should Chinese kids celebrate Western festivals? I think the answer is Yes, Yes and Yes! It is not how important each festival is, because every festival is about having a good time. Anybody can do that! Festivals are a great chance to learn about other cultures — and in a fun way. Halloween is one of my favorites. When I was younger, we would go “trick- or-treating on Halloween night. All the kids would dress up and go door- to-door shouting “trick or treat! At each house, we’d get candies and chocolate. Things haven’t changed much for me. This Halloween I’ll be going to a party where everyone will dress up. I’m lazy, so I’ll just throw a white sheet over my head, cut out two holes for eyes and call myself a ghost. I hope that there are lots of Chinese people — young and old — having Halloween parties of their own this year. It’s a good way to bring people together. In fact, not only should Chinese kids celebrate Western holidays, but Western kids should start celebrating Chinese holidays. It would be great for me to go back to Canada and see all the children giving each other moon cakes on the Mid-autumn Festival or lighting fireworks on the Chinese New Year. So, join the fun and have a happy Halloween and a great Double Ninth Festival! 63. What’s the writer’s purpose of writing this text? A. To introduce Western festivals. B. A. people should understand what each festival stands for B. festivals help people understand each other’s cultures C. people should dress up to celebrate festivals D. I still hope to celebrate Chinese festivals D. I still like dressing up as much as I used to 66. The writer holds the idea that . A. Canadian kids should learn from Chinese kids B. the Double Ninth Festival and Halloween should be celebrated on the same day C. people should celebrate both Western and Chinese festivals D. At school many things happen to us. We may feel excited when we have success in a school play. We may feel sorry if we lose an important game. We want to remember all the important things in our lives.

How to keep the memory? Our English teacher, Miss Wang, taught us a good way of remembering things to make our own yearbook. What is a yearbook? A yearbook is a kind of book which is used to keep the memory of exciting moments. It’s usually made at the end of the year.

Last December, we began to make our yearbook. First we chose the persons who did something special, then some students interviewed (采访) them, some wrote down their stories, others took photos of them. Everyone in our class had something to do. Finally our teacher helped us to put the things together. We had our first yearbook.
