Taking the dog to the beach on a hot summer's day is a great way to relax. But not all beaches are dog friendly. So if you're looking to take your dog to the coast this summer, here's a few of the country's most dog-friendly beaches.
Sunshine Beach Where: Noosa, Queensland Only a 10-minute drive from Noosa, Sunshine Beach also welcomes dogs with open paws. Once known as Golden Beach, its long white beaches make it a paradise for anyone who loves fishing, boating, surfing or just relaxing on the beach with family and friends. Restrictions (限定): Dogs can freely explore the shoreline from Noosa National Park to the path leading from Seaview Terrace.
Tallow Beach Where: Byron Bay, New South Wales With white sand that stretches (延伸) for miles, and clean, clear waters washing its shores, Byron certainly doesn't want for beautiful beaches — and Tallow Beach is no exception. This seven-kilometer-long beach stretches all the way to Broken Head Reserve. Restrictions: The beach's dog-friendly area starts near Jarman Street and stretches north to the outside of Arakwal National Park.
Muirs Beach Where: Coles Bay, Tasmania One of the few beaches that falls outside of Freycinet National Park, Muirs, is a great family beach that welcomes dogs, too. Compared to famous sheltered beaches of Freycinet, it is more open to the waves from the Tasman Sea, making it ideal for windsurfing. The beach itself is very long, so there is plenty of space to let your dog run free. Restrictions: Dog owners must respect the environment and use the poop bags provided at the entrance to the beach to get rid of any dog waste.Fines apply (运用).
Yorkeys Knob Beach Where: Queensland Located just 15 minutes from Cairns, Yorkeys Knob Beach is a great spot to relax with your dog. Named after a local fisherman called "Yorkey" who lived on the rocky hill (“knob”), this wonderful little beach is one of the best-kept secrets in Tropical North Queensland. It is ideal for swimming and snorkelling in the summer season. Restrictions: The southern end of the beach is the "dog off-chain" end where your dog is allowed to run free; dogs must be on a chain in all other areas of the beach.
A.Tallow Beach is not popular in Byron Bay.
B.Beautiful beaches are not important in Byron Bay.
C.Tallow Beach is the most beautiful beach in Byron Bay.
D.Tallow Beach is one of the beautiful beaches in Byron Bay.
A.it’s just fine to let it be
B.they have to clean the beach

A.All beaches welcome people together with their dogs.

C.Yorkeys Knob Beach is a good place for windsurfing.
D.Dogs can run free only on some of the beaches mentioned above.
When you go shopping, you are given at least one plastic bag to carry what you’ve bought. They are so common that we don’t often give them a second thought. But the beginning of the end may have come for the plastic bag.
A small town in Tasmania,an island off the south coast of mainland Australia,is making itself an environmental role model (模范) by becoming the country’s first plasticbagfree town.
Since April 28,Coles Bay’s population of 175 and its tourist shoppers have been using reusable paper or cloth bags to carry their shopping.
Coles Bay sits on the edge of the beautiful Freycinet national park.Around 180,000 tourists pass through the town and the park every year.
Ben Kearney,a local businessman who supports the bag ban, said it would cut the amount of waste and prevent damage to native wildlife who try to eat the plastic.
“Most of the business here comes from the tourism and that’s all based on the environment,so people were pretty supportive.”he said.
Every year Australians use more than 6 million plastic bags.More than half of these come from supermarkets.Since_it_takes_years_for_the_bags_to_biodegrade_(生物分解),tens_of_millions_end_up_polluting_the_environment.They kill about 100,000 seabirds and animals, which mistake the bags for food, every year.

Pollution caused by plastic bags is a big headache for countries all over the world. As early as 1999,Beijing said that only plastic bags of certain thickness could be used. This was to encourage them to be used again and again. In China’s capital alone,an average of 6 million plastic bags are used every single day.

I’m from the South Bronx. At 7, my neighborhood was the beginning and end of my universe. It was a small town to me.Everyone knew each other, so if you got into trouble in school, chances are that your mom knew about it before you got home.I felt watched over and safe.
But just before I turned 8, things began to change.I watched two buildings on my block burn down.I remember seeing my neighbor Pito go up and down the fire escape to get people out.Where were the firemen? Where was the truck? Somebody must have called them.
That same summer, after serving two tours in Vietnam, my brother was killed in the South Bronx. He was shot above the left eye and died instantly.
People who could moved out of the neighborhood , and all I wanted to do was get out, too.I used education to get away from there and got good at avoiding the topic of where I was from.To be from the South Bronx meant that you were not a good person. It felt like a stain (污点).
After college, I didn’t want to come back to the South Bronx, but in order to afford graduate school, I had to.I was almost 30 and could only afford to live at my parents’ home.It felt like a defeat, and I hated it.
At the same time, the city was planning a huge waste facility here, and no one seemed to care -- including many of us who lived here. They were like, “Well, it’s a poor community; what’s the difference?”
After that, I realized it’s just as important to fight for something as it is to fight against something. So we dreamed up a new park on the site of an illegal waste dump – and after many community clean-ups, along with $3 million from the city, we have one.And it’s a glory. It was the seed from which many new plants for our community have grown.
Today, the South Bronx is no longer a stain; it’s a symbol of honor for me.I believe that where I’m from helps me to really see the world.Today, when I say I’m from the South Bronx, I stand up straight. This is home, and it always will be.

18.What is the talk mainly about?
A.Improving our memory.
B.Taking care of our health.
C.Collecting information.
19.What should we do to remember someone’s name?
A.Write it down on a piece of paper.
B.Pay more attention to his or her first name.
C.Remember his or her last name.
20.What does the speaker suggest to us?
A.Having a rest for twenty minutes.
B.Taking some Vitamins B1 and B2.
C.Doing sports during the break.
听力原文:(Text 11)
W:There are many ways in which the memory can be improved. In fact, I believe we all have the ability to remember up to six times more than we do.
A lot of people find that visualizing information is very helpful. For example, if you are trying to remember a telephone number, imagine it written down on a piece of paper.
Remembering people’s names is a problem for a lot of people.I recommend that when you are introduced to someone you concentrate on his or her first name.It probably won’t offend anyone if you have to say, “What was your last name again, Sarah?” but Sarah might be upset if you forget her first name.
Of course, regular breaks are important and it’s better not to work for long periods without taking one, stopping for rest about every twenty minutes is best.
Finally, take care of yourself physically.Avoid substances like coffee, alcohol or drugs, because they dull the mind. And don’t forget your vitamins-B1 and B2 are particularly good for the memory.
