　　Dear Sam：

How are you?I’m writing to tell you what I’m doing here in China．I’m studying in Nankai High School in Tianjin, and it’s famous here．I’m enjoying my studies a lot．We’re having Chinese lessons．It’s hard to learn, because it’s so different from English．I can’t write the Chinese characters well．But my teacher says I’m learning fast．My favorite subject is geography．The geography teacher is cool, and he tells us a lot about different places in China．I’m doing lots of homework in the evenings and at the weekends．But it’s not boring at all．I’m making some Chinese friends and I’m also taking part in a lot of activities．I’m playing sport with my classmates on Saturday afternoon．Mum and dad are busy shopping in town．They can always find some nice things．It’s such a fine day．The sun is shining and there’re no clouds．I’m going to go out in a while．Say hello to uncle and aunt for me please．Tell Grandma I miss her a lot and I will go back to see her this summer．

Best wishes

Chris

　　Dear Roni,

Italy is wonderful. We started in Rome two weeks ago, drove to Florence last week and now we're on our way to Venice. Three weeks just isn't enough.

The country near Florence is so beautiful－hills, olive trees. And red roofs(屋顶) of the houses look so nice far away.

I am afraid I am getting bigger－the food here is so delicious!

Love,

Akemi

　　Hi Roni,

I can't believe(相信) you went to school here in Honolulu! Why did you leave?

I spend each morning on the beach(海滩) and in the water. The sand is so soft and the beaches seem so long. The water is just the right temperature.

One afternoon, I left the beach to walk in mountains near Honolulu. I enjoyed myself very much there.

　　How I miss you!

Mari

　　Dear Roni,

Maybe I'm strange but I love the desert(沙漠)!

Last week, our group spent four days in the desert. At times, it felt like the moon.

I always thought deserts were all the same! They are not. Some parts look like mountains; others are really different.

And when we find something green－－a few plam trees, a little water, we feel good and great.

　　See you in September,

Kim

Dear Daming,
I’m sorry to hear that a big earthquake happened in Ya’an, Sichuan. Some school buildings broke down in the earthquake and many students couldn’t go to school. But I know the government is trying their best to help them. And Chinese people are so strong and brave that they aren’t afraid of anything difficult. Can the students go on studying now? Please tell me more about them.
I’m looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours,
