It has been difficult to sit on the bench most of the time, watching my team from the sideline.I always 1 why I am not good enough to be on the floor. After endless hours of work and devotion, 2 myself through drill after drill, the last thing I want is to be a cheerleader. The feeling of being 3 is sometimes too much and drives me to 4 on the spot.I often feel as though my 5 are wasted and my time is eaten away, devoted to 6 .It is heartbreaking to be a spectator(旁观者)for the game I love, knowing that no one has enough faith to give me the chance to 7 on the floor.Tears well up, but I 7 them back.I shouldn't be so 9 over something so silly.
Away from the game, it's easier to put my thoughts together, rather than letting my 10 drive my reasoning.I consider 11 I am where I am.I have played basketball my whole life.I have a strong 12 for the sport and always have. There is nothing like the 13 of playing:the swish(飕飕声)of the net, the sweat rolling off my cheeks, even the bruises(青肿)are battle wounds worn 14 after every game.
Even if I don't play much, I participate in every game.I am part of a team of girls who 15 together like a family.I am there for them, 16 they are for me.
Should I move on? Or should I stay with my team and continue playing basketball 17 great passion just a little longer? The 18 isn't difficult when I consider the joy that being a part of a team 19 me-and not just any team, but my team.I love basketball and my teammates. When I think about that, my 20 from the bench really isn't so bad after all.

A group of graduates got together to visit their old university professor. While talking about the present-day 1 topic-Happiness, the conversation soon turned into complaints about 2 in work and life.Offering his 3 coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and 4 with a large pot of coffee and a 5 of cups-porcelain(瓷), plastic, glass, crystal(水晶), some plain-looking, some expensive, some beautiful-telling them to 6 themselves to the coffee.
Seeing all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said, “if you have 7 , all the nice-looking expensive cups have been 8 , leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is 9 for you to want:only the best for yourselves, that is the 10 of your problems and stress.”
“ 11 the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink. 12 all of you really want is coffee, not the cup. 13 you consciously went for the best cups….And then you began 14 each other's cups.”
“Now consider this: 15 is the coffee; the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just 16 to hold and contain life, and the type of cup we have does not define, nor change the 17 of life we live.Sometimes, by focusing only on the cup, we 18 to enjoy the coffee. So, value the coffee, not the cups! Don't let the cups drive you. 19 , enjoy the coffee.”
It's true that the 20 people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything,

The town I live in is about to put cameras at all traffic lights to catch people who run red lights. It 1 me of how many people I've seen who take the yellow light as a 2 to go faster.I also can't understand why people don't move when the traffic light has turned green.Above all, there are those 3 situations in which someone just 4 the fact that the light has turned red, and keeps going. That is why so many 5 happen! All these situations make me 6 the purpose of traffic lights.
7 , it's even more frightening to imagine letting people make their own decisions at 8 crossroads.Do the biggest cars get to go first? Who decides who goes next? So I guess I do like the idea of a system to 9 traffic. And I'll do my best to 10 the traffic rules:to go, to be cautious, and to stop when I'm 11 to.
It occurs to me that my 12 have done much the same for me 13 teach- ing me how to live. They have given me many 14 lights; to get along well with others, to listen and talk to them, to help others, and to 15 with joy and purpose. They have also given me some red lights 16 my life goes astray(误入歧途):not to be greedy, to keep my temper, and to control my desires. And there 17 have been some yellow caution lights:to watch how much I drink, to keep control of my behavior, and to 18 school regularly and work hard.
If I obey these rules, my life will be as 19 as it can be.Just as I'm wise to pay attention to the traffic lights when I'm walking across the street, I'm wise to pay attention to the “ 20 signals” given to me by my parents.

When I was a law professor, a student reported that I made an error in grading his exam by giving him too many points. He was 1 and after thanking him for his honesty, I changed the grade in my 2 .His beaming(欢笑的)face turned to shock."You're 3 my grade?" he said angrily."I would never have come in 4 …"
He didn't finish the 5 , but it was obvious that his display of honesty was 6 .He thought he'd have it all -praise and the higher grade.
Several colleagues thought I should have let the higher grade 7 because all I'd accomplished was to discourage him from being 8 in the future. And every time I tell this story, some people agree to this 9 .
But I can't see how I could give good reason for worsening my 10 in grading by undermining(损害)the honesty of all my grades by failing to 11 an error. The grade itself would be a dishonest 12 of his knowledge and it would have been 13 to other students. How could I 14 give a student a gift of an unearned grade?
I know 15 reporting an error in one's favor is unusual, but, like 16 too much change, it's clearly the right thing to do.People of character, those with real honesty, hate to give up 17 as much as anyone else. The difference is that for them a good conscience and reputation is 18 enough to give reason for the cost of doing the right thing.
Perhaps lowering the student's grade did 19 him from being honest in the future, but bribing(贿赂)him to be honest so that he does the right thing when its cost-free would have 20 him even more. The duty to be honest is about right and wrong, not risks and rewards.
