"Dash" is a symbol which represents every day we've spent alive on earth. Therefore, how you spend your "dash" is important.
Recently I 1 about a little girl named Hope. After learning more about her life, I couldn't help but feel it was not by 2 , nor happenstance(意外事件), that she had been named "Hope".The strong feeling of sympathy and generosity 3 in her young heart made a lasting impression on me and countless others. 4 I never had the opportunity to meet her, I wish I had.It seems as though she was wise beyond her tender years and very, very special.
Hope was a twelve-year-old girl who was 5 a "wish" in early December 2010 by the "Make-A-Wish" Foundation after being 6 that she had a rare type of bone cancer. However, when she found out that more than 150 7 in her area were waiting for their wishes to be achieved, she unselfishly used her wish to 8 that those children have their wishes granted. She also asked that it be done 9 January 16, 2011.Unfortunately, however, the organization informed her that her 10 request could not be granted as the funds were simply 11 .They calculated that they would need to raise more than one 12 dollars in thirty days in order to grant her wish. 13 , but not discouraged, she turned her disappointment into an enthusiasm that inspired caring 14 to take up helping grant the wishes of the other children, and eventually 15 as well.Newspaper columnists and reporters for radio and TV stations 16 the story of this caring young girl who had 17 the hearts of so many and as word spread, the community was challenged.Committees were fanned and schools, corporations and various organizations assisted in 18 money to help make Hope's dream come true.
Her efforts were not in vain as they continue to help others, not only 19 , but spiritually and emotionally as well.At the gathering to celebrate her life, "A Celebration of Hope" on January 16, 2011, the 20 was made that they had indeed received donations totaling more than one million dollars. Her wish had been granted!

Finally, under the cover of darkness, he crept into the next-door garden and placed it 8 in the cage.He managed to make the bunny look very 9 there in his little box.
The next morning, my friend looked out of the window and noticed a crowd of people 10 around the rabbit hutch.Everyone seemed to be talking and pointing. My friend 11 to go over and act like any normal 12 neighbor and find out what was going on.
When he got there, Mary’s mother said to my friend, “You won’t believe this! It’s a(n) 13 thing! Mary’s bunny 14 a few days ago, and we buried that little bunny right over there…”

A few years later, I got a 11 in the mail saying, “Wow, it’s been five years since we met on that plane. It is 12 how you touched my life.” She went on to tell me that she had 13 to stay away from drugs, and had been working for a radio station. She felt she had achieved things she could not have 14 that day on the plane. We agreed to set up a time to get 15 .
When I saw her, she was 16 the attractive young woman I remembered. She told me that that little 17 we had had turned her life around. She had got on the plane 18 anything would work in her life, and my affirmationof her as a person and of her 19 had given her the last bit of 20 she needed to work through her problems.
The young woman taught me it’s never too late to make a new start in life.

A feeling of excitement overcame me as I looked around the stadium.
At 5∶30 pm, two hours before game time, I walked into the locker room(更衣室).My 1 of school, music and what I planned to do on Saturday night were 2 with the simple aim to beat the football team across the field from us tonight.
Approaching my locker(衣物柜), I noticed my teammates 3 .Some rested on benches, staring up at the ceiling 4 it were a film of the opposing team’s play. Some seemed a bit more 5 , using the time to tell jokes.A few stared at the field, 6 what will happen in 120 minutes.
Our coach, Tony Severino, came out of his office at 6 o’clock. He told the team how 7 this game was for the season, between two of the state’s top teams-my school and our opposing team, Liberty High School. His words gave the team impulse(冲动)it needed to 8 .
At 7∶10 pm, warm-ups finished, we went over the game 9 and discussed what we needed to do for the next three hours. The sound of the national anthem(国歌) 10 that we were only minutes from the action. Our coach usually made a final 11 .But tonight was different. On this clear night he 12 looked around the room at all the players and shouted, “Let’s go and get them.” Even 13 the “get” came out of his mouth, we were already 14 our way out of the door.
Outside, a few young fans reached to touch our hands, eager to be a 15 of our school’s winning tradition. When I smiled and 16 my hand, the young faces lit up as if they had just met Superman.
Seconds later, the team ran onto the 17 , moving as a mass of blue, in front of a packed stadium. We enjoyed a noisy 18 from fans and the fight song played by our school band.Breathing in the 19 of one of the biggest game of the year, I felt we were sure to win.I told myself, “This was what it was all about” and 20 that it was for moments like this that I loved high school football.

Both personal 5 and teamwork are important when you climb. You need to rely on the 6 of your team and share in the achievement. But personal determination to keep going despite any difficulty is very helpful to team success.?

Night after night, as was often the case, she'd lean down and push my long hair out of the way, then kiss my forehead.
I don't remember when it first started 1 me.But it did. Finally one night, I shouted out as her, "Don't do that any more - your hands are too 2 !" She didn't say anything in reply. But never again did my mother 3 my day with that familiar 4 of her love.
With the years passing, my thoughts 5 to that night, when I missed my mother's hands, missed her goodnight 6 on my forehead.Sometimes the incident seemed very 7 , while sometimes far away. But always it was hidden in the back of my 8 .Now Mom is in her seventies, and those hands that I 9 thought to be so rough are still doing things for me and my 10 .And now my own children are grown and gone. One thanksgiving Eve, 11 I slept in the bedroom of my youth, a 12 hand hesitantly ran across my face to 13 the hair from my forehead. Then a kiss, ever so 14 , touched my brow.
In my memory, for the thousandth time, I recalled the night and my young voice 15 ."Don't do that any more - your hands are too rough!" 16 , I caught Mom's hand in hand, saying how 17 I was for that night.I thought she'd remember, as I did.But Mom didn't know 18 I was talking about. She had forgotten, and forgiven long ago.
That night, I fell asleep with a new 19 for my gentle mother and her caring hands. And the guilt that I had carried around for so long was 20 to be found.

“All men are created equal” is one idea that nearly every American would agree upon. 1 they sometimes betray the idea in their daily lives, they have a deep faith 2 in some fundamental way no one is born superior to anyone else.
In the early years of American history, because titles of nobility(贵族)were forbidden, no 3 class system developed in the United States.Firmly believing that being born into a lower class would not 4 them from success and they would have a better chance in America, thousands of immigrants 5 to leave the European societies, where their 6 in life was determined 7 by the social class into which they were born.It was because the dreams of many of there immigrants were 8 in their new country, though there might be 6 in some situations, that Americans came to believe in equality of opportunity.
Americans do not mean that everyone should be 10 equal when they say they believe in equality of opportunity. 11 , they do mean that each person should have an equal chance for success.Abraham Lincoln once said, “We wish to 12 the humblest(最微贱的)man an equal chance to get rich with everybody else. When one starts poor, free society is 13 that he knows he can 14 his condition.”
However, competition is the price to be 15 for his equality of opportunity.Americans match their energy and intelligence against that of others in a competitive contest for success, because they believe competition 16 the best in any person.Indeed, the pressure of competition causes an American to be 17 , but it also places a constant emotional stress on him.In fact, in a society that gives so much 18 to those “winners”, 19 does not compete successfully for whatever reason never 20 into it as well as those who do.
