Traveling can be a way to gain life experiences, especially during Spring Break-a week long school vacation in the United States. But what if you’re a student and don’t have enough money for a trip? Don’t worry. Here are some useful suggestions.
●Save:This probably is the most important preparation for traveling.Cut expenses to fatten your wallet so you’ll have more choices about where to go and how to get there.
●Plan ahead:Don’t wait until the last minute to plan your trip.Tickets may cost more when bought on short notice.Giving yourself several months to get ready can mean security(安全)and savings.
●Do your homework:No matter where you go, research the places you will visit.Decide what to see.Travel books will provide information on the cheapest hotels and restaurants.
●Plan sensibly:Write down what you expect to spend for food and hotels.Stick to your plan or you may not have enough money to cover everything.
●Travel in groups:Find someone who is interested in visiting the same places.By traveling with others you can share costs and experiences.
●Work as you go:Need more money to support your trip? Look for work in the places you visit.
●Go off the beaten path:Tourist cities may be expensive. You may want to rethink your trip and go to a lesser-known area.Smaller towns can have many interesting activities and sights.
●Pack necessary things:The most important things to take are not always clothes:Remember medicine in case you get sick and snacks in case you cannot find a cheap restaurant.
●Use the Internet:The Net can help to save money.Some useful websites include www.Travelocity.com, www.bargains-lowest fare.com and www.Economic travel.com.
By planning sensibly, even students can enjoy the travel.Your travel experiences will be remembered for a lifetime.

Making a film takes a long time and is very hard work.Writing for the film may take many weeks.Filming the story being acted-or shooting the film, as it is called, often takes at least six months.Actors and camera-men work from very early in the morning until late at night. Each scene has to be acted and re-acted, filmed and re-filmed, until it is just right.Sometimes the same scene may have to be acted twenty or thirty times.
The film studio is like a large factory, and the indoor stages are very big indeed.Scenery of all kinds is made in the studio:churches, houses, castles, and factories are all built of wood and cardboard.Several hundred people work together to make one film. Some of these people are the actors and actresses. The director of the film, however, is the most important person in a film studio. He decides how the scenes should be filmed and how the actors should act.
Most people go to see a film because they know the film-stars in it.Sometimes the film may be very poor.It is best to choose a film made by a good director. Some famous directors make their films very real.People feel that they themselves are among the people in the film.

New York was very proud of its electric trolleys at the turn of the century. They were the latest way to get around. But Mary Anderson, who visited New York from her native Birmingham, Alabama, 1902, didn’t like them at all.She thought they weren’t safe.
It wasn’t that the drivers were bad.It was the windshields(挡风玻璃).In those days, drivers rubbed their windshields with damp tobacco. This was supposed to help keep off rain and snow. But it didn’t work too well.Anderson watched as the trolley drivers struggled to see out of their windshields, and came up with an idea.
Back in Alabama, Anderson made the first windshield wiper by fixing a handle to a rubber blade(片).This, in turn, was fixed to the windshield. The driver had to turn the handle back and forth by hand to make the blade wipe off the rain. But it worked. And travel in bad weather was made a little safer for everyone.

A good friend of mine lives with six hundred wild animals on a Greek island.Ever since he left school(where I first knew him)he has traveled all over the world collecting animals for his very own zoo.He hoped to collect two examples of every kind of animal on his island, like Noah before the Great Flood. But the flood that my friend was afraid of, was a flood not of water, but of people.I think you have heard of my friend; he writes books about his travels, and about the wild and wonderful animals that he collects. The money from the books helps to pay for all the food that these animals eat.

Dear Miss Carter,
Following my telephone conversation with you yesterday, we have decided that we would prefer to go to Malaga for our holiday rather than Canada.Of the hotels you suggested, we think that the San Carlos would suit us best.
We should like to stay for a fortnight from the 23rd July. Our party will consist of myself, my wife Sheila, our 11-year-old son, Timathy, and our 10-year-old daughter, Mary and my sister, Mrs Anna Harvey and her two sons, Richard and Edward, aged 13 and 14.We shall, therefore, require two double rooms and a 3-bedded room for the boys.
I think it would be more satisfactory for us to have half-board, as we are unlikely to be in for all meals, and we want to sample the local food.
You said our flight would leave from Gatwick.Perhaps you would let me know how long it takes to fly to Malaga and the departure time.
I understand that, if I should decide to hire a car, you can arrange for it to be at the airport for our arrival.
I enclose the completed booking form and check to cover the deposit of £25 per person required at the time of booking.I should be glad to receive confirmation of booking at your earliest convenience.
