will probably be back by midnight. They hoped to get back
earlier but they missed a train. They phoned us a little
of while ago. Mum was angry because the taxi driver
had driven so fast. The train had left when they arrive at
the station. If they’d arrived five minute earlier, they
will have caught it. We’re waiting to hear about their
weekend.Neither of them had visited London before they
went on this visit. They were all quite excited. If they
had caught up the train, they would have been here by now.
big river. It burst band and the fields all
round was soon full of water. Luckily, the
water didn’t reach for any of the houses
in our village. And the bursting water from the river carried away our beautiful
wooden bridge, which was more than three
hundreds years old and we were very sorry
to lose the oldest thing which we had had
for so long time. We’re building a new one.
but it will be the same bridge which we had before!
young man passing by, “Let me to clean your boots. It’ll
pay you only a penny. “The young man said: “No. ”
Then the boy told him that he will clean his boots for
nothing. The young man agreed with this, and soon one boot
was shining bright. Then he put the other boot on the box
but the boy refused to clean it if he was paid two pence
for his work. But the well- clean boot made the dirty
one looks so badly that the young man could not walk on.
He agreed to give the boy the two pence. In very short
time his boots shone brightly.
thought he could repeat Einstein’s lecture. Einstein enjoyed at
the driver’s being able to learn by heart that he had expressed.
He thus suggested that next time the driver spoke to
the public in his stead, or Einstein already tired of talking
about the Theory of Relativity. That evening the driver made
his place on the stage. Everybody clapped(鼓掌) since nobody had seen Einstein ago. Then the driver began
his speech seriously. Sure enough he didn’t make a single
mistake. After the lecture, the driver, following by Einstein,
was about to leave, when a man rose up and asked a
very difficult question. The driver listened to carefully.
Then he said, “The question you asked is fairly interesting, but it’s simple indeed. You may ask my driver. ”

I felt sadly yesterday when our teacher told us something
about Project Hope in class. It has set up to help the
children in the countryside who can’t pay to go to
school.After school I came home.I was wondering if I
could do something for the Project then I caught sight
of money-collecting box on the table. Then I made
up my minds to send my pocket money which I
had saved for nearly one year for the children who
wanted to go to school.I wrote a letter to them and
hurried to the post office.Together with the letter I
posted the money and sent with my best wishes to them.
At a party, it is quite normal of someone to have
a short conversation with you and then go on to talking
to other people!Don’t think they dislike you or they
are impolite. It has the custom at many parties
in Britain, particularly there people are standing up rather
than sitting down. Here are two ways of finishing conversation
at a party.Excuse me.I think I’ll go and get another drinking.
See you later, perhaps?Oh.Excuse me.I’ve just seen
Mary Jennings over here.I’ve got to discuss a meeting we
are been having on Thursday.Would you excuse me for a moment?

“London Bridge” is a very old game.Childs played it in the
courtyards of Castles and, if the lord of the castle allow
them, in the Great Hall, “London Bridge”!No matter
where you live in, you probably know how to sing the
song and play the game. Two players hold hands and
raise their arms, made a “Bridge”, and the others march
under. All sing a tune. When the tune reach a certain note,
a “Bridge” falls down on the one who is passing through.
He’s caught! The song begins again. The bridge falls again.
And somebody else are caught. The game goes on until
only one marcher is left.
The really London Bridge was first built more than 700 years
ago, about the same time that some of the great
castles were being build.
