Welcome to the Polynesian Cultural Centre! You are entering a world of funs! My name is called Tera, a Polynesian name which mean “the sun”. I’m very glad you can come today and learn about some of the amazing Polynesian way. As you can see, here behind myself is one of their boats. To build a boat like this, you needed a very tall, straight tree. You first cut down the tree and remove the branch. Then you cut the tree in half so you have two long pieces of woods. You use one piece to make the boat. Remove the inside for a person to sit. Take the bark off the outside of the boat and puts oil on it so it will easily go through the sea. Some Polynesian boats have sails.

Liu Kai is a good student and always ready for help others. One day on his way to school, he
saw little girl crossed the road. A car was coming towards him quickly and the girl was very frightened to move. Just now Liu Kai rushed up to her and caught her on the arm. I saw an accident happened on my way to home this afternoon. A girl was crossing the street on a zebra crossing while a young man drove a motorbike towards her. The young man saw the girl and tried to stop, and he drove too fast to stop. He hit the girl and fell off her motorbike. The girl was badly hurt and couldn’t move. The young man didn’t know how to do. I ran to a phone box nearby and dialed 110. Soon the police reached. They sent her hospital at once. One of the policeman talked to the young man and wrote something down while talking. I think it is real dangerous to drive very fast.

Last Sunday morning, when I was having a walk in the park near my home, I came across a crew make a new film with one of my favourite actor.
I didn’t have my camera        
With me at that time, but I rushed back home to get. Unfortunately,
by the time I got back, they have finished the scene and actor couldn’t
be seen everywhere. I was really disappointing and about to leave when
he walked out  a building. He was right there in the front of me! I
couldn’t believe my luck-not only did I had my photo taken wuth him, but
he signed his name on my shirt!

Many animals have our own languages.They use signals which has meanings. For example, when a bee has found some foods, it goes back to its home .It is impossible for a bee tell the others bees where the food is by speaking to them, but it can do a little dancing ,that tells the bees the information about the food. Some animals show how they feel  by make sounds. It is not difficulty to tell whether a dog is angry or not .Birds make several different sounds, and every has its own  meaning. Love is just a thread
Sometime I really doubt that there is love between my parents. Every day they are very busy try to earn money in order to pay the high tuition to my brother and me. They don’t act in the romantic ways that I read in books and I see on TV. In their opinions, “I love you” is very luxurious for them to say. Sending flower each other in Valentine’s Day is even more out of the question. Finally my father has a bad temper. When he’s very tired of the hand work, it is easy for him to lose her temper.
