I sometimes argue with my mother about if I can watch TV after school. She holds the
view which Senior students have to devote all their time to work hard at their lessons. It
seems to me that once I allowed to do that, I’ll be unable to control me and forget all about
my study .She also thinks it is bad for my eye. Actually I quite understand her, but I really
couldn’t accept her ideas. In my opinion, watch TV can set my mind at rest after a day’s hard
work .Besides, it is important for us to know what have happened at home and at abroad.
Thus, we shouldn’t be forbidden to watch TV.

Dear Editor,
I’m the boy student in a key middle school in our city. I fond of play the piano. It is known by us that the college entrance examination is approaching. I must get good prepared for it. So I have only fifteen minutes to play the piano on every day. I don’t want to give up my favorite, and my parents forbade me to continue playing it. They think it a waste of time to do it now. It may appear that the elderly people is happy and peaceful there, but deep in their hearts they are sad about be ignored by their own children. Li Ling is the only one of the student in our class who have ever been to England. Last summer she is lucky enough to be sent there to study for three months. When I was a child, my mom was pushed me to study hard, hoping I could get a
chance to go to college. I experience pressure for the first time. I did that my mom
expected because I didn’t want to let her off. I was born into a poor peasant family,
but I really knew life was not easy. All the things my mother did was the result of
her hope that I could lead better life in the future. As the saying go, “ No pains, no
gains.” I was finally able to meet my mother expectations and had a chance to go
to college. Thanks to my mother’s push and the pressure, I made it. Now, I no
longer think pressure is a good thing.
