It was black in the evening. Andy, a 12-year-old boy was unwilling to go outside. But his mother, Lilly, was worried about his father and  36  he go.
About an hour ago, the husband said he had to  37 his car outside their house. ___38  enough, it seemed that the wife hadn’t heard a single  39 for a long time.
“Go and have a look. What on earth is he doing?” she said to Andy.
The boy walked out and called into the darkness “Dad?”
“Andy?”  40 was his father, who spoke slowly, in a strange way. Actually, his voice sounded  41 .
That evening, when the man had to get  42 the car to fix it, he used a forklift to lift the car. 43   , the man didn’t place the blocks in front of the car’ s front tires to keep it from  44  forward off the forks, which was exactly  45 it did afterwards.
Little Andy saw his dad’s feet  46 out from beneath the car.  47 to take a full breath, his father sank into a sleepy, half-alive  48 .
“Keep calm, mum. Everything will be all right.” The boy  49 the scared mother.
He climbed on and tried to do something to help. Finally, the car started to come off the ground and hung in the   50 .
After a few minutes, the policemen were sent for. Luckily, the father, who  51 under the car, could still breathe, alive.
It wasn’t  52 his dad was carried into an ambulance heading for the hospital that the little boy  53  and couldn’t help crying.
Andy says one satisfying change has come out of the  54 : he is able to spend more time with his dad, who hasn’t touched a car 55 his car fell on him.

Sometimes, people are required to fill in personal information when they register online, which may lead to some unexpected trouble. Police in both Britain and Australia are using the case to  49  citizens of the dangers of posting personal information on social networks and to suggest users of websites   50   doing so. The police say it is   51   that the girl posted a comment in the past that gave clues to the address,    52  that the robbers knew the girl in another way.    53  , they suggest, a posting by a friend on their site could have    54  such information. To find it, the robbers would only have had to search for those posting on other pages that   55  the girl’s name.

I lived on a farm with my parents and my elder brothers and sisters when I was a little boy. We had the 36 to play and run wherever we wanted to go.
We often 37 games just by pretending we were cowboys. Sometimes we played hide-and-seek. One of us would 38 and the others would come and find him. I remember one 39 I hid behind some old wood in the cottage. All was 40 . I couldn’t hear a sound, just the wind 41 . The situation became tense (紧张的) 42 the possibility of someone finding me, and the longer I 43 , the more tense I became. 44 , I heard footsteps coming down the yard. My 45 beat fast and I stood 46 , frozen like a block of ice. I saw my brother getting closer and closer. When he saw me, he laughed 47 , shouting at the top of his voice so that 48 could hear him say, “Eh, I’ve   49 our Tommy!” I can still see the 50 on his face today. Afterwards he said he didn’t think I would hide there. I shrugged my shoulders and said, “Why, it’s a good place, isn’t it?”
I don’t have any 51 of these events, just memories, as we had no camera at that time. 52 it was a long time ago, I can see them now as if they 53 yesterday.
Now I live in town on a busy street. My girls don’t have the freedom that we   54 have to run off down the road and play whatever they want. Anyway, is it 55   to let children out of sight these days?

A boy was walking home from school when he saw a large, tempting (诱人的)apple on one of the branches of an apple tree hanging out over a tall fence. The boy wasn’t much of a fruit-eater,  41 a bar of chocolate if given the choice,     42   , as they say, the forbidden fruit can be tempting. Seeing the apple, the boy wanted it. The more he looked at it, the    43   he felt and the more he wanted that apple.
44  as high as he could , but even at his tallest  45  he was unable to touch it. He began to  46 up and down , as high as he could, at the  47 of each jump stretching his arms to get the apple . Still it remained out of  48 .
Not giving up , he thought , if only he had something to  49 on . His school bag wouldn’t give enough height and he didn’t want to  50  the things inside , like his lunch box , pencil case , and Game boy . Looking  51 , he hoped he might find an old box , a rock , or ,   52 luck , even a ladder , but it was a tidy neighborhood and there was nothing he could use .
He had tried everything he could think to do .   53  seeing any other choices , he gave up and started to walk   54 . At first he felt angry and disappointed thinking about how hungry he had become from his 55 , and how he really wanted that apple . The more he  56 like this , the more unhappy he became.
57   ,the boy of our story was a pretty smart guy, even if he couldn’t always get what get he wanted .He started to say to himself .,This isn’t   58    , I   don’t have the apple and I’m feeling miserable as well. There’s  59  more I can do to get the apple_that is unchangeable-but we are supposed to be able to  60 our feelings. If that’s the case, what can I do to feel better?
