One day a stranger came to the nearest village and asked where he could find wild pigs. Somebody told him, and he went off. He had no 36 with him, and the village people  37 what he was going to 38 with the pigs.
When he came back a few months later and said that he had 39 all the pigs, the villagers were still more surprised, but some of them agreed to go with him 40 he asked for help in bringing the pigs out. They wanted to see whether he was telling 41 .
They soon discovered 42 he was. All the pigs were inside the enclosure(围栏) which had a fence round it and a 43 in one of its sides.
44 did you do it?” they asked the stranger.
“ well, it was quite easy really,” he answered. “ I began by 45 some Indian corn. 46, they would not touch it, but after a few weeks, some of the younger pigs 47 to run out of the bushes, take some of the corn quickly, and then run back. Soon all the pigs were eating the corn I 48 out there. Then I began to build a fence round the corn. At first it was very 49, but little by little I built it higher and higher without 50 the pigs away. When I saw that they were 51 me to bring the corn each day 52 going and searching for their own food  53 they had done in the past, I can 54 one day while they were all eating inside the enclosure. I can catch any animal in the world in the same way if I can get it into the habit of 55 me for its food.

I was sleeping for over a week after a traffic accident. The only sounds that could be heard were coming from the machines that were  36   me alive.
All my family members were   37   ways to wake me up from my silence.
Greg, my brother – in – law,  38   to take some of my songs I had recently recorded to a local radio station,   39   he explained about my illness. He told them he was  40 I could hear what was going on around me and that he knew having my own songs   41   on the radio had been a huge dream of mine. This would definitely  42   me and do more than any medicine or machine could.
The radio station agreed to help and gave him a specific date and time   43  he could have a radio “  44  ” at my hospital bed. Greg’s decision had filled everyone with 45   and now the moment arrived. Nervous from expectation, all my family members  46   hands and watched over me hoping for a   47  .
The DJ made a pre – song announcement about my   48   to the general audience, and then spoke directly to me.
“Shelly, this is for you. I want you to really listen now. This is not just   49   song we’re playing, but your family’s song of hope. All of us at KKDJ wish you a speedy   50  .”

Everyone in the room held their breath and watched  51   as the music began. Later they all witnessed the tears  52   down my pale cheeks. Though still not awake, it was obvious I heard my song.

Just a few days later, hope turned into   53  . I did in fact awake. Though not   54   unscathed (未受伤的), I did not suffer from the disabilities that had been predicted.
Hope is the part of us that makes us pick up the pieces and try again.   55   hope where would we be?

My Fellow Americans,
I have recently been told that I am one of the millions of Americans who will be suffered from Alzheimer’s Disease (老年痴呆症).
Upon learning this news, Nancy & I had to decide whether as private citizens we would  36  this a private matter or we would make this news known in a  37  way.
In the past Nancy suffered from breast cancer  38  I had my cancer surgeries (外科手术). We found that after we told it to the public, we were able to  39  public awareness(意识). We were happy that  40   many more people went to have a test. They were treated in early stages and able to  41  to normal, healthy lives.
So now, we feel it is  42   to share it with you. In opening our hearts, we hope this might promote greater  43  of this condition. Perhaps it will encourage a clearer understanding of the individuals and families who are  44   by it.
At the moment I feel just fine. I’d  45   to live the remainder of the years God gives me on this earth doing the things I have  46  done. I will continue to share  47    journey with my beloved Nancy and my family. I plan to enjoy the great outdoors and stay in touch  48   my friends and supporters.
Unfortunately, as Alzheimer’s Disease  49 , the family often suffers a lot. I only wish there was some way I could spare Nancy from this   50  experience. When the time comes I am confident that with your help she will   51  it with faith and courage.
At last, let me thank you, the American people for giving me the great honor of  52   me to serve as your President. When the Lord calls me home,  53  that may be, I will leave with the greatest love for this country of ours and endless optimism (乐观) for its future.
I now begin this  54  that will lead me into the sunset of my life. I know that for America there will always be a bright   55  ahead.
Thank you my friends. May God always bless you.
Sincerely,
Ronald Reagan

Several factors make a good newspaper story. First,  1  ,it must be new. But since TV can react to events so quickly, this is often a problem for    2 . They usually respond    3  it in one of three ways.
One by providing   4  detail, comment or background information.
One by finding a new   5 on the day’s major stories.
One by printing completely different stories which   6  doesn’t broadcast.
What else? Well—it also has to be   7 . People don’t want to read about    8  , everyday life. Because of this, many stories   9  some kind of conflict or danger. This is one reason why so much news seems to be   10 news , “ Plane lands safely—no-one hurt ”doesn’t sell newspapers. “Plane  11 —200 feared dead !” does .
Next, there’s human interest. People are interested in other   12  —particularly in the rich, famous and powerful. Stories about the private lives of pop singers, actors, models, politicians,   13 , all appear regularly in certain newspapers .
Finally, for many editors,   14  is an important factor, too. They prefer stories about people, places and events which their readers know. That’s   15  the stories in Tokyo’s newspapers are often very different from the stories printed in Paris, Cairo, New York or Buenos Aires.

The art of giving gifts is to give something that others cannot buy for themselves.
                                         ------A.A. Milne
I have spent most of my career as a traveling salesman. There’s 36   lonelier than having meals myself in a coffee shop. One year, my five-year-old daughter Jeanine gave me a  37 . It was a soft toy penguin with a hand –painted  38 saying “I love My Dad!”  Tears came into my eyes and immediately, I gave it a  39 place on my desk.
Soon I had to leave on another business  40 . This time when I was  41 , I put the penguin in my suitcase. After that day, Jeanine always helped me pack with the penguin. Many years 42 by and that little penguin has traveled with me hundreds of thousands of miles all across America and over to Europe. We have also made many friends  43  the way.
44 one afternoon after leaving my hotel, I discovered that the penguin was  45 . Frantically, I phoned the hotel. The clerk  46  , saying it hadn’t been reported. But half an hour later, he called back to say that my penguin had been found. It was late,  47  I drove several hours to get my little  48 , arriving near midnight.
When I rushed to the hotel, I found that it was waiting at the front desk. In the lobby(大厅), some   49 business travelers looked at us, I think, with some  50 and envy(羡慕). Someone came out to shake my hand. One man told me that he had even volunteered to  51 it to me the very next day.
Jeannie is in college now and I don’t travel  52 much anymore. The penguin spends most of its time  53  on my dresser--- a reminder that  54  is the best traveling companion. All those years on the road, it was the one thing I never left home  55 .

Just Help the Next Person
The only highway to go to work that we had to drive was closed down due to an accident on the bridge. A truck had hit the bridge and made it 36 for any traffic to go over it. So in order to get to 37 I had to go a number of miles out of my way.
Not being that 38 with this road and not knowing 39 all the pot holes in the road were, I topped a hill and right in my path was a big pot hole. I felt and heard the familiar sound of a flat tire. I 40 as far to the right as possible and stopped. I tried several times to change the tire, but 41 .
There I sat out in the country and no way to 42 with anybody. Just then, I looked in my rear view mirror and a 43 was pulling out of a pasture behind me. I was 44 and scared at the same time.
I was struggling to get the 45 out when this man in the pickup pulled in behind me. He got out to introduce himself and 46 to help me. When he got the spare out we discovered that the spare is also 47 . He told me he would take the tire and have it 48 and call my husband.
We got the tire fixed 49 he took me back to my car. My husband was there 50 us when we got back. The kind stranger stayed there and helped my husband 51 the tire. After they finished we 52 thanked him and offered to pay him for his 53 .
I will never forget his words, " your thanks is 54 enough pay and I just hope if this ever happens to my wife or daughter someone will be so 55 as to help them."
