One cold night，I was growing sick of my life in San Francisco． There I was walking home around one o’clock in the morning after a 1 practice at the theatre． With the opening night only a week away, I was still learning my lines by heart．I was having 2 handling my part-time job at the bank in the daytime and my acting at night at the same time． As I walked I thought seriously about 3 both acting and San Francisco．I had 4too much of city life．
As 1 walked down the 5 streets under the tall buildings，I felt very small and cold, so I began 6 both to keep warm and to keep away from any possible robbers．Very few people were still out 7 a few homeless people under blankets．
About a block from my 8, I heard a sound behind me． I 9quickly, half expecting to see someone with a knife or a gun． The street was empty．All I saw was a shining streetlight． Still，the noise had made me 10 , so I started to run faster． Not until I reached my apartment building and unlocked the door did I 11 what the noise had been．It had been my wallet 12 to the sidewalk．
Suddenly I wasn’t cold or tired any more．I ran out of the door and back to where I'd heard the noise．Although I searched the sidewalk 13 for 15 minutes，my wallet was 14to be found．
Just as 1 was about to quit the 15, I heard the garbage truck stop to the sidewalk next to 16．When a voice came from the inside, “Alisa Camacho?”I thought I was 17．How could this man know my name? The door opened and out jumped a small blonde man with an amused look in his eyes, “Is this 18 you’re looking for?” He asked, holding up something like a wallet．
It was already 3 am． by the time I got into bed． I couldn’t get much sleep，but I had got my wallet back． I also had got back some 19 of city life． I realized the city couldn’t be a bad place 20 people were willing to help each other．

Recently, I have begun to do rides with a group of guys who ride professionally (老练地). The first day, I finished the ride with great1, though I tried hard to keep up with one guy for most the ways. To my2, I did a little better the second time.
I decided to work harder to3. Yesterday, I4so much on my ride that I missed the short route (路线) I usually take;5, I stayed on the long route. I had never used this route, so I wasn’t really sure about which6I should take. Thankfully, a group of four riders7, and I just followed them.
A few minutes later, one of the guys got a flat tire (爆了的轮胎), and, with the help of the others, he had it 8in about a minute. We all waited there 9he changed his tire. After we started riding again, I noticed something10. The guy at the front would ride11for a couple of minutes, then he would move over to the side,12his way to the end of the line, and the guy behind him would move into the lead position. The process (过程) would13every few minutes. This was a lot easier than riding alone, trying to14the first rider. This time I had a great time – and I think it is the15I’ve ever gone.
This made me realize how important teamwork is, and the16of having a great team. The point is that you don’t have to be at your best17. You give it your all for a while, and then you let the guy18you do the same. The entire team improves because you don’t have to be the19all the time. You get your time to shine, and so does everyone else. You cannot get anywhere – or even make any worthwhile improvement – without a20. Who else will stop and help you to change your flat tire?
