我们这个世界不仅缺粮，而且缺水，这听起来很奇怪。因为地球表面70%为水覆盖。但水总量的97%是海水。人类能吃能用的只剩下3%。这些可用水来自河流、湖泊和地下。人类甚至不能完全利用这些水，因为还包含了冰山（icebergs）和冰川（glaciers）中的水。更糟的是，有些水还遭到了污染。我们对水的需求日益猛增。所以，人类一定要采取措施解决这个问题。

The world is not only hungry, but also short of water. This may sound strange. For 70% of the surface of the earth is covered by water. But 97 of all this is sea water or salty water. Man can only drink and use the other 3% -the fresh water that comes from rivers, lakes and from underground. And we can't even use all of that because some of it is in the icebergs and glaciers. What's more, some of the fresh water has been polluted. Our need of water is increasing rapidly day by day. So we should take steps to solve the problem. |
