During a summer of 2001, I started reading books
in English, mostly stories. I would learn a lot of new
words from these books, but I had terribly problems
memorizing them. I had to look up to the same word
many times, for which was quite troublesome. I realized
I do need a way to remember all this vocabulary. It was
a great achievement for myself. I started writing down
words from books that I read. I would come back from
school, and then sit for an hour and two. I wrote down
new words and added it to my collection. By the end
of last year,my collection has grown to 3,000 words.

Dear Laura,
It's natural for teenager to want some "personal space" and
become independent. It's also natural that parents want protect
and guide his children. But the problem is that the way your father
express his love and care for you is wrong. Since your father is
not so easily to talk to, I advise solving the problem indirectly.
What about talking with your mother and tell her what worries
you? Maybe she will do you a favor. What was more, sharing funny
school news and as well as your learning achievements and problems
with your parents will help them know you more better and be less
worried your school life. After you've done this, I'm sure your father
will stop checking your private area so often.
