Located on the bank of the Pearl River, the 600-meter high Guangzhou New TV Tower covers an area of 84,000 square meters. Its construction started in September 2004 and was completed in December 2009. The Tower is now one of the tallest buildings in the world and has become a new place of interest in Guangzhou as well as a landmark of the city. It includes sky gardens and bars and is decorated with colorful lights. The 2.2 billion RMB project consumed a total of 55,000 tons of steel. Its unique design has caught the attention from all over the world.
