                        World EXPO 2010: To go or not to go?

As another splendid global event hosted by China after the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, World EXPO 2010 in Shanghai is definitely the most significant event this year With the approaching of summer vacation, our class held a heated discussion about whether to go to EXPO or not.

Some classmates are eager to go to the EXPO, regarding it as a historic event that should not be missed. For one thing, it is really interesting to take a close look at the architecture in different styles. For another, they can experience different cultures and the most advanced technology, which will enrich their knowledge and broaden their vision.

However, some others think it unnecessary to make a special visit when there has been enough coverage on TV and in newspapers. Besides, the food and lodging expenses are much higher than usual. And it is unpleasant to wait in long lines before entering the pavilions, especially when exposed to the sunlight in hot summer.

     Personally, I still want to go there, despite those concerns. The EXPO not only acts as an important platform for cultural exchanges but also is a precious opportunity for me to explore more about the world and get better prepared for my future life.
